Noisy in the back seats on the freeway

I've driven my wife's '24 CX-5 a bunch and I've ridden in the front passenger seat a bunch. Today I rode in the back seat for the first time and it was annoyingly loud on the freeway. A constant low volume "whooooosh" and when a car passed by from behind on either side the sound intensified until the passing car was a head of the back/back seat half of the car. I could hear it most through the lift gate but also through the side doors. It actually sounded like the lift gate wasn't completely closed but there was no alert on info center.

Any here increased who has added insulation/seals to quiet down the car at highway speeds?

Do different trims have different amounts of sound deadening materials? Perhaps less on lower trims in the rear seat and hatch area?

I doubt that very much.

Apparently Mazda strongly dislikes sound deadening material.

It is an easy source of weight reduction (or addition), but also of NVH.

Well that would certainly be an easy fix.
