3 years, 42,000 miles and no dealer visits

:
2023 CX5 turbo
2023 CX-5 Turbo bought new end of January 2023. has not required a single dealer visit for warranty issues. I did use two of the 3 free oil changes but did not get the 3rd as they overfilled on the first two so decided not to get the 3rd free one done. I do all my own oil changes and changed the plugs (they recommend 40,000 on the turbos).

There is not a rattle or squeak. Leather seats still looks like new and surprising to me the piano black interior trim still looks new..I figured it would be scuffed and scratched but that is not the case..the exterior piano black trim also looks like new..I was worried about the wheel well trim and the window/door trim..but it has not scratched. I only hand wash my vehicles and they never see a car wash.

The engine does not have any oil seepage anywhere on the engine..I really can not think of a single complaint I have on this vehicle over the last 3 years. it took about a week to get used to the infotainment set up but now really would not want it any other way.. in fact when I drive my jeep I often reach for the center console knob...

I have considered trading for a new 2025CX5 turbo being they will not have this model any longer but not sure I will. I know in this segment hard to find something I would like as much..that all said it is my wife's car and she is the main driver of it and she likes it and says why get a new one if it is exactly the same...

Same as you with our 19 Reserve. No warranty issues, no issues whatsoever.
Was going to trade it on a new CX-5 but my wife loves the car so I opted for a B2B full warranty with Mazda (just in case). Currently have 63,000 on the ODO and runs like new. No oil leaks or usage. Hated the piano black around the shifter area so bought one of those composite covers and it really looks great plus doesn't smear.
We will wait until 2027 and see how the hybrid plays out.
If they don't bring back some manual buttons for the critical controls it will be a no-go for me.

I brought my 2015 Mazda 6 to the dealer for the first time this past august with 340k (KM) to have the rear brake calipers replaced under recall (Parking brake issue.)

It was a dreadful experience.

Our 2023 CX5 Turbo has been flawless too. Only have 21K miles on it now but still drives like new. I do figure one of these days the original oem battery will have to be replaced though.

2023 CX-5 2.5NA.
38k miles
2 blower motors and the thermostat recall campaign.
My 2015 Civic had 2 Ac compressor issues under warranty, since then just wear and tear items.
Im assuming the CX-5 experience will be pretty similar to that. Get the defects out of the way, then smooth sailing from there.

I am generally noticing more issues (Not so much drivetrain related) With newer models of Mazda. Or the ones with the CD cylinder head issues.

And the newer CX-60.

I bet. Having a warranty is one thing, but having to deal with a dealer service dept. is another story altogether.

My '22 with 54,500km (33,800 miles) has had the following done to it, all in the last 2 years and all for which TSB's exist:

- Steering column rattle (fixed myself by further tightening a bolt underneath)
- Driver's seat base replaced due to excessive play (under warranty)
- Left headlight assembly replaced due to excessive rattling and buzzing (under warranty)
- Coolant control valve (under warranty)
- Right headlight assembly replaced for same reasons 2 months ago (base warranty expired so almost $1800 CDN).

Despite my car having CD, no issues with the engine or transmission up to now (CCV issue aside). I still have powertrain warranty through April of next year but I do not expect to keep it past that.

That is a surprising list. I rarely see that many visits on a car so far into its run.

Build quality has certainly went down somewhat.

@chickdr I am assuming that the newer CX-5's are not Japan assembled?

If yours is, than the engineers and assembly line workers there have lost their minds.

I have a 2025 CX 5 non turbo , no start stop, NO cylinder deactivation , normal transmission.. and love it...... my biggest problem is deciding between the 0w20 and 5w30 oil LOL..

Nope- all CX-5 for the US market are built in Hiroshima, Japan.
