Mazda Reliability

If you can believe Consumer Reports, Mazda predicted reliability has slipped significantly. If you scroll down to the section discussing Mazda, they say it is due to the CX-70/CX-90, and that the reliable CX-5 wasn’t factored in due to the 2026 redesign.

Do those really make up enough of their sales volume to tip the scales?
I don’t know… across all manufacturers it seems the plug-in hybrid version of a given model tends to have worse reliability than the gas-only and/or hybrid versions.
And I guess they can’t predict the reliability of a redesigned model, so all the past favorable data of the reliable CX-5 was lost. And they do sell a lot of CX-5s.
