It does but the speed limit is missing, it comes from the native nav. One other benefit I see from the native navigation system is the reliability. You have continuous satellite connection, while Car Play/ Android depends on the cellular network. If you drive in the middle of nowhere with no signal, the Google map is useless. And I can think of another reason: less stress on your cellphone.
Just want to make a public service announcement for everyone who doesn't know: use the feature in Google Maps to download the area so that it works even without a cell signal. It's part of your due diligence when leaving for a trip.
Also, the "Here" map app uses downloaded regional maps to your phone (by default). I've never tried it in my CX-50 though, so not sure if it works with the HUD.
I don't think that's totally true or if it is it must be a new thing. Couple years ago I took the sim card from my 2019 and put it in to my 2016 and it worked just fine. The 2019 had 10's of thousands of miles on it at the time. Haven't tried it again since I acquired a Nav card for the 16 after that.
Maybe because the 2016 didn't care about the lock. I can say that I temporarily switched the Nav card from the wife's 2019 into our daughter's 2019 and it didn't work.
That's quite possible, 16 manufactured in 15 before Nav piracy was a big thing.
Who/What are you referring to? If you're referring to the 19 to 16, Yes the 19 Nav card came with the car when it was purchased new.
The 7th generation navigation system does not put exit number on the HUD, just in the "junction view" window, tiny number. On the HUD it says "feeder" something and the arrow. The google thing I have to check it because I rarely use google maps for navigation.
