Android Auto on HUD

Hello. I have a 23 cx5 Premium plus. Updated to the latest software and navigation card. I can't get Android Auto to generate on heads up display like factory maps. Phone is 24+ on latest software and update as and Google maps. Thank you

2024+ shows ACP on the HUD. I'm not aware of any showing AA yet.

Us 2023 owners are out of luck.

That is silly it would only show CP and not AA. Why even bother if it doesn't work for both types of phones. I don't get automakers not including both AA and CP on any infotainment done today. Neither one is going anywhere soon.

The navigation does show up on the HUD when using AA on a 2025 CX5 Signature.

There must be a way to enable AA/ACP HUD display for previous years, either with software, or hardware swap
HUD directions (AA/ACP) is the only thing that I miss in my '21 cx5
In the worst possible case that would be a retrofit of CMU + HUD assembly + harness + coding

I can't imagine the cost of retrofitting those parts.

That's a bigger issue. I'm sure that dealers wouldn't do that, but could non-dealer shops have the right tools? As I understand, software might have something to do with Toyota, I have no idea but wildest guess -- is there any chance programming is compatible with Toyota tools? Original soft was Ford based. Thats why there is some info for gen6 vehicles.

Then it branched off to a new setup with gen7 (2022-) with only some legacy modules using the ford one. 2024-5 is probably fully new system.

No clue if they used Toyota in the new one.

I am a 2021 cx5 GTP owner, I bought a 2024 cmu from a 2024 signature wrecked on ebay. I swapped it out and plugged all the ports in (same ports/wire harness) but no display, the car is drivable. the cmu fan spins. i plugged back my orginal cmu and it took a while to boot back up.

I personally feel like the only way is to figure out what extra 24 parts needed to wake the cmu up . would need buy a fully wrecked 2024 cx5, and have a 2021 to test.

from what I seen, 21-23 all the same. I do have another 2023 cx5, and the cmu from my 21 boots straight up.

i also tried the 2024 usb C hub part, the connection is the same on 2021, plugged it in, lights up, but cmu says that the hub is not compadible directly on the screen, no poweroutput.
