Any way to fix it before it keeps peeling off. It is white and about 1/8 inch around. Is there anything I can put on it to seal it from winter salt or other damage?

Thanks

im not sure i understand what your saying here.. you have a chip on your rim... which means it got hit or scraped or something along those lines right?? well the part im unclear on is... it is a white chip? the wheels are gun metal, not white... and they arent white underneath (as far as i know)... i just dont quite understand what your saying... however, I can provide somewhat of a solution. If you can find a shop in your area that does it, you can get them fixed... there are shops that will take wheels that are beat up (alot of times tho, wheels are beyond the point of repair) and clean em, sand em, smoth em, and re-finish em to a point that is almost as good, if not as good as new... not sure on pricing or the exact procedure or materials/products they use... but im sure you could call around and get more info... or maybe someone else on the board has got somethin more for ya

good luck
Peace

A couple of cars ago I curbed the factory rim pretty bad. Anyway I took it to a place like you're describing and they refinished it for like $60-$90. When I got it back you couldn't tell it ever happened. Good Luck.

Unfortunately there's no real way to fix it yourself other than taking it into a rim repair shop and getting it refinished.

I wonder tho if perhaps there is some kind of epoxy or covering that can go on the exposed surface to at least prevent the extra peeling etc that you are concerned about.

You have a chip on your rim!?!?!?! SWEET!!!! Where's the dip.....ooohhhh you mean the other kind of chip!!! That sucks!!!

I was right when I stated a chip, From like a rock or something. And the silver part is gone and it is white in color now? Hmm I was thinking of clear nail polish for a temp fix?

what do ya think?
