I got a full PPF (full hood, full front fenders, bumper, mirror backs, headlights). Not cheap, but those of you who know, know. Anyway, these small additions seem like an easy DIY since there's no big curve. Leading portion of roof an A pillars. Watch a few videos an you should be good to go...

Xpel and Suntek are good options also but they are really expensive.

@wobmarl yes Xpel and Suntek have options, but I am unsure if they come as a DIY kit (already cut for your vehicle). Most installers have a vinyl / film cutter on site so they can accommodate any vehicle on demand.

Recently picked up a 2017 CX-5 in the soul red metallic for the wife and really want to get the full PPF as you described (+the door cups). Can I ask what you paid and which of the products you went with? The first quote I got was using Xpel Ultimate for the full hood, full front bumper, fender, headlights, fog lights, mirror cap, door cup and door edge guards for $1900 here in California. It was a higher-end shop that also quoted a tint job at the top of the price scale vs some of the others I looked at. Just trying to get a good idea of what I should expect to pay since this is my first film job understanding that you also get what you pay for. Thanks in advance

I paid $1,800, also at what I considered a high end shop, so $1,900 is not out of line. Not cheap, but trust me, you'll kick yourself the first nick you get if you didn't. The nice thing is no edges/seam line on the hood and rear part of front fenders since they can roll them underneath. This is their shop and actual work. You don't get cars like this unless you have a referral base of happy customers. You should be able to go to your shop and see what they're currently working on.

Thanks for the quick response. They had a Tesla and a M6 BMW in the bay when I stopped by and the owner is the one that came out and walked me through all my questions. I'm still going to get a few other quotes but, thanks for giving me a solid price point to work around.

Did you get to see how on a full front the hood was completely wrapped underneath with no exposed edges on the top, along with the top and rear of the fenders also wrapped underneath?

Yes, looked a lot cleaner and I would assume holds up longer without the risk of the edges rolling over time. That is something I am making sure they do. My paint is in pretty good shape but, I want to inquire about what prep the shops do prior to laying the film down.
