US Diesel's big splash introduction

Not sure what you'd expect them to do/say differently. All indications point to them waiting for EPA approval, until they get it, there's nothing new for them to tell you.

I get it, it's disappointing. But I'm not sure what else you want Mazda to do until they have something else to tell you.

And the EPA is out to lunch.

I expect them to give me an honest answer on if what Southern States Mazda told their customer (they're not bringing it to the US) was true or not to the best of their knowledge. I don't think that's too much to ask.

There is literally no car company out there that would answer ANYTHING 'honestly' with an ongoing approval process in the works.

You would get a standard, 'canned' response from literally every one of them in the same situation just as you have/will with Mazda.

Last week I received the following email from my local Mazda dealer, who knew I was waiting for the diesel: "I have some updated info on the CX-5 diesel. Unfortunately Mazda will not be bringing the diesel engine to the United States market, however our gas engine still produce enough power and performance for everyday use." Not sure if this is true or if he's just trying to sell me a gasoline car, but it reinforced the decision to go with the BMW the week prior.

My dealer basically said the same thing but added not for 2018. Might see in in 2019. He was pushing the 2018 Mazda 6 2.5T which he promises me is fantastic. He is also trying to get me to buy the CX-9.

If they put AWD and a manual in it, it would be fantastic. Same for the Mazda 3.

Drove by my Mazda dealer today so stopped in to speak to the Sales Manager. He showed me pages of callbacks for customers waiting for the CX-5 Diesel so they have a big interest in this model. He says that Mazda is tight lipped and have not given ANY information for over 6 months. Hi is as interested as anyone else that this model gets finally released.

All anyone of us wants is the truth and we are entitled to it. If there are delays at EPA because of a broken machine, fuel maps need to be tweaked, injectors need be resized etc. then just say so.

Hmm... not good that they aren't evening communicating with their own dealers!

^^Even if they were I think there would be a pretty strict gag order which is why I asked them to comment on Southern States Mazda..same bs answer pretty much to the letter. Wanted to call..just to hear a voice forced to recite the same bs. I will when I have time..phuckers.

No, and I don't think they are happy about it. My dealer in SC is a rather upset and says this is just like the Mazda 6 Diesel. My old dealer in PA, who I called to see if they knew anything - a much bigger dealer - knew nothing.

But they at one point, I was told, had the CX-5 diesel on their order books. Don't know if that has changed but they both say not to expect it in 2018.

I will also add, if you ever asked them about CarPlay, they have never said it was coming or even planned.

Looks like lessons haven't been learnt from the diesel 6 experience

"I hope you get burnt
Seems you haven't learnt
It's the knick-knack, patty-whack
I still got the biggest sack!"

Sorry had to.. not much left to say until we finally get the word they're inbound..and then I'll be noddin my (lol2) like yeah and I told all you mutha(hump)ers like yeah..its a party in the(usa) and probably Canada too
