FOB with tailgate program on CX5 without?

Yes I mean unlock it. Well let's say you are far from the car and your remote is in the pocket. Your wife is next to the car and asks you to open the tailgate for a sec to pull something out and you don't want to unlock the whole car but just the tailgate. Well you cannot do it if your remote has only two buttons.

Then you have to wait until you get the new model. Your model has the proximity sensor to stop some wazzock opening the car while you are away from it.

I was told by someone who works at mazda here that I cannot program the FOB with 3 buttons on the car that came with the FOB with two. BCM is not compatible.
