My new (used) 02 P5

... There is a difference. It did seem like a PIA to install. I wonder if I should press out the old stem and use it in the new mount?...

I don't think that would work (plus you did get it installed)

I'm guessing the ATX mount is matched with the ATX stem and the MTX mount is matched with the MTX stem.

The problem arose when mounts were ordered and didn't come with the stem... Then they wouldn't match.

(plus.. apparently pressing the stem in IS a PITA)

Sounds like yours was just hard to install but the guy in the picture had his whole engine pulled cockeyed.

I must have gotten an auto mount when I bought mounts on Amazon. The stem didn't seem pressed in all the way.

I was able to install it briefly, but it wasn't right. The mount was stretched so badly it wouldn't have lasted.

Yea I always wondered how people made those work. Just seems like it would stretch the rubber when you pressed a new stem in.

My AWR insert on the backside of the stem is sort of pushed out, which probably is a result of having the wrong mount. It seems to work, and I didn't really thing it was a big deal just becuase of the way the zip ties mount it. Maybe it is something I should look into a bit more. I should of just bought the correct mount from the beginning but having the Mazda parts guy and tech say they had no idea what the difference was made me think, sweet I will save 40 bucks.

I just grabbed my old one and compared. Its basically like the picture above of the two mounts. There is a difference. It did seem like a PIA to install. I wonder if I should press out the old stem and use it in the new mount? Just pressing it out of an old mount and into a new one seemed like it would be a chore. The only reason I went with a factory mount is because I wanted to use the AWR inserts and I could not find any aftermarket ones with the same "fittings" as the inserts. I paid $99 for the auto mount, cheapest I could find the manual was $130 or $140 I believe. Someone needs to compare the auto mount to the manual mount. Must be why the passenger motor mount is so slightly different.

Yeah pretty much the cheapest i found and with the stem for a MTX was $146

The #3 mount from the dealer for my MTX was over $200. Could have bought all four mounts for less than that on Amazon, but after hearing all the issues with aftermarket mounts here on the forum I decided not to risk it. Mount installed without issue.

I've bought mounts off ebay, where the holes were so badly positioned that I had to grind them out with a dremel. Not even in relation to the through-bolt, but in relation to themselves. The three bolts in the rear motor mount were nearly a quarter inch too close together. It couldn't have been mounted to the car even if the motor was out. Same story with a trans mount I got. The vertical bolt holes could not line up because of the shallowness of the bracket.

I will say that these mounts were still worth it though, because they were CHEAP. It just took some time to get them to fit.

Any suggestions on brake pads for my P5? Retailers as well if you guys have any in particular that have maybe deals or good pricing

I lucked out with the one I bought as it fit perfectly and yes the price is what sold me on it. I figured $19 is hardly a gamble. I've wasted much more on more stupid things so that worked out for me. So I replaced No2 and No3 mounts.

I'm now waiting on my mechanic to replace No4 mount which hopefully should be this weekend.

Got a P1250 cel code which came up on me not too long ago before my mechanic replace I believe the fuel pressure regulator. the code has made a return for part 2 and he suggests for me to change the EGR Valve Control Solenoid/Motor anyone run into this problem as well? Should I reset the cel and see if it comes back?

P1250 is for the fuel pressure regulator... not the EGR.

Either your PRC crapped out again or there's something wrong with the wiring/connections.

Anyway they're related at all? That's what the guy was saying but you guys have a lot of knowledge on these cars so now I'm not soo sure what to do.

Do you have a part number by any chance?

Here's what I found on rockauto's website. It looks like what you guys are saying is what I need but it's called EGR Valve Control Solenoid/Motor

prc or any of that yielded no results.

I believe that's correct. I also believe there is a way to test the solenoids. It's the one on top of the manifold with the Brown plug.

I posted the wrong picture from Rockauto.

I posted the actual pressure regulator.

You posted what looks like the solenoid for it.
(I couldn't figure out why there was no power connector...)

I'm a little confused now...

There is no listing for the pressure regulator control solenoid vavle... ???

The EGR control solenoid valve may be identical but I'm not sure ??

Try to cross reference the part numbers maybe... Somehow.

The only EGR solenoid valve I could find is this...

And it doesn't look like the one you posted.

The picture you posted DOES look like what you need.(regardless of what they call it)

I'm willing to bet that the solenoid valve you posted will work in both applications and you just hook them up a bit different.

PS... Forget everything I posted about testing your regulator and fuel pressure.. That has nothing to do with your solenoid.
