All-New 2017 Mazda CX-5 To Be Previewed At Novembers Los Angeles Auto Show?

Although there hasn't been much too see yet and we will see the reveal in about 8 hours, from what I have seen so far my overall thoughts are...."meh".

If it is, the photo has been altered. The shape of the tail lights and area between the liftgate and rear side windows don't match up with the CX-3.
Yeah... and I see that is the actual photo from Mazda's site... damn it looks really small to me, I was hoping it would be a bit larger than the current model...

Fog lights are there, the same ones on the CX-9.

Yes, its not a Mazda pic, and yes, it is not 100% correct, but a bit easier to make out than trying to look at the cammo pictures...

Those tiny LED fog lights need to go imo. I'd prefer them to be higher and on the edge like the X1. Would make for better fog light visibility.

Highly doubt it has any new driveline. It's likely an updated exterior and the new little BMW-esque pop-up NAV screen deal. Thems my predictions, anyway.

Pop-up nav? Doubtful. It will likely move to the fixed screen sitting atop the dash like in all the other new-ish Mazda models, like the CX-3, ND Miata, CX-9, etc.

Yeah, looks like its losing space for sure- almost like a CX3 plus based on the tease.. I have a pretty good (yet bad) feeling they will reintroduce the CX7 on top and of course charge more because evidently you really can't have too many SUV sausage sizes nowadays:( Let's see- we'll know more @10PM EST. My '14 isn't going anywhere at least until a mid-cycle refresh of this anyway and space isn't a top priority- but I will likely give my $ to Mazda again because well they're pretty damn good a making cars that don't suck to drive. Having said that I didn't find much if any more joy out of the 6 stick which is both a testament to how good the CX5 is and also that they need some differentiation in their lineup- they need an AWD 6 with the 2.5T like last year.

It's just a re-skin, no platform changes. Any space changes will be negligible. Camera angles can be deceiving.

Well, eagerly waiting 7pm PST... Either way, they have come a long way since the 1931 Mazda GO.

Confirmed?
So no 2.5 T? It looks awesome from front, rear not so much. The front bottom lip is >>> better than 16.5 which is two ugly triangles.

No. It's just speculation. This is the first second generation Skyactiv car. So, we really don't know!

More than on that diesel rumor.... I guess we'll know for sure in a couple hours.

"When most automakers are embracing the future and going electric, Mazda turns it around and goes with diesel instead. The automaker is confident that there is still a demand for diesel-powered vehicle even amidst the Dieselgate fiasco.

Hence, Mazda will be unveiling its diesel CX-5 in the US followed by a fuel-powered Mazda6, according to Nikkei Asian Review. The automaker is looking at 50,000 potential sales between the SUV and sedan.

Mazda is planning to fill the void that VW generated in the market. If this is successful, then Mazda would definitely see an increase in its sales.

Back in 2015, the automaker had recorded 319,184 sales and adding another 50,000 sales to that figure would mark a 15 percent increase in sales. This could happen without a launching of a new model.

The latest Mazda CX-5 will be equipped with a 2.2-liter diesel engine which can produce 148 horsepower and 280 lb-ft torque while the hi-po variant churns 178 horsepower and 310 lb-ft torque.

Mazda may be a little too ambitious with its estimation of the diesel demand, but its move of offering diesel-powered Mazda6 and CX-5 stateside is a clever strategy."

I don't have a link but a few months back one of the auto sites had an interview with a Mazda exec that laid out a rough map - year to year are plastic changes, 2017 is a sheet metal change and a platform change in 2019/2020 depending on how drivetrain development goes. Platform changes are where they redesign the whole thing in a significant way.

The current CX-5 can support a 2.5 turbo, so its possible.

watching....... (boom01)

....i hope i hate it *crossing fingers*
