Does anyone know if the auto on/off feature can be retro-fitted to a 2016.5 Touring model? We've had it on our other cars, and miss it.

I'm confused. Are you saying your CX5 doesn't have it? I thought all models on the 16.5 had it.

I don't think this is an easy plug and play retrofit. You need a GT headlight stalk switch for an additional "Auto" position, and a light sensor on the dash panel. Not to mention wiring changes and may be the software setup changes.
Like someone wanting the LED headlights, the best way to have it is to get the feature with appropriate trim level or options while you're selecting your new CX-5.

That is what I thought, but wanted to check just in case. As you noted in your subsequent post, the 2016.5 GT model comes with that feature, not the Touring model.

Actually not just for 2016.5 GT, auto on/off headlights have always been only available at CX-5 GT trim since 2013.
We have them on our '15 Touring w/Tech. See post #5.

Yeap, that explains it. Touring Tech Package does include auto on/off HID headlights.
