Check list while taking the Delivery

:
2019 CX5 GT-R
Hello All
I will be taking my CX5-GT with Tech pkg from the dealer soon. Any checklist that can come to your mind while taking the delivery ?

Regards
PMA

To expand on CX5_Pete's comment above, dealers are notorious for leaving tires overinflated from the factory. Mazda sets them at around 50 psi for the trip across the pond so they do not flat spot while in transit. Make sure the dealer has dropped them to the recommended 36 psi.

Yes, Tire pressure, most recent Nav Map update, most recent infotainment update, the fuel filler pipe safety recall.

Thanks All. Can you please help me with the Latest version details for Map /Infotainment? Worst case if the dealer hasnt done that , can i do it myself ?

Scrutinize the headlights for any "delamination". Inside glass side. Check with lights on.

I would do a through walk around the car and make sure there are no scratches or dents of any sort. When I picked mine up I found a few scratches once I got into the garage at home, about 10mins after leaving the dealership. The service guys tried to pass them off as rock chips but it clearly wasn't, one was on the a pillar and looked like a ring on someones hand had scrapped back and forth on it. I found another one that was long thin scratch next to the license plate. Just be sure you look closely for any blemishes and make them fix them, that includes the inside as well.

Thanks all. What about below. https://www.mazda.ca/en/shopping-tools/programs/mazda-delivery-promise/

Did you all got a full tank of Gas from the dealer ? Also what was your Odometer reading ? I vaguely remember they said not more than 50 kilometers.

I did get a full tank of gas, the dealer should do that for you, if not ask for it. As for the odometer, Mine was at 101 miles on the clock. The reason for this was my vehicle was dealer transfer from a another dealer in the same family about 80mi away. They drove the car that distance and the rest was from my test drive(s). I wish I would have gotten one right off the truck with the plastic still on the panels and before they attached the stupid advertising plate to the front, drilling the bumper in the process.

Fluid levels. Mine was low on washer fluid. Our 3 had the tires overinflated. This makes the road noise much louder too. The infotainment was 2 versions old - you can ask the dealer to update this while you fill out paperwork, they don't update units while they're on the lot. The salesman should show you how to pair your phone to the bluetooth, but this sometimes is forgotten.

Did you order your GT with Tech from your dealer? If that's the case your odometer should have single digit miles (ours was 3 miles). Dealers usually have a check list for new car delivery, make sure to go through that. If you prefer not to have holes at front bumper for front license plate, you can mention that in advance to make sure they don't drill holes and put on dealer's plate once the new CX-5 arrives. Ask for two tie-down eyelets (tow hooks) to fill in the empty slots in spare-tire tool styrofoam.

On the contrary, the tire pressure on our CX-5 freshly out of the truck were all low at 32 psi. Also check the tire pressure on your spare and it could be 20 psi lower than 60 psi as several other forum members and I had found out.

The firmware update, Cant we do that or is that something only the dealer has to do during the Warranty period ? Also the fuel cap problem i heard that all new models the issue is fixed.
Do we know what month the issue is fixed so that i can check against my manufacture date.

You can do it by yourself on Infotainment software, but I don't know about the PCM software. Fuel cap has no issue, but the way how to hold the fuel tank filler pipe was having the problem during certain rear-end collision if the CX-5 rolls over. Every CX-5 assembled after Feb. 1st 2016 is supposed to have modified design on the bracket with new rubber pad and plastic fastener for fuel tank filler pipe.

check your odometer glass for scratches. I have two large ones from the factory. its been a pain in the butt to deal with mostly because they have been waiting forever to get approval for it. funny thing is its in the inside, so obviously a manufacture defect

Thanks yrwei52. If i check under Home/Settings/System/About/Version information and if i see 55 i think its the latest. Link below

Between can we connect the infotainment to home wifi ?
I had my Infotainment OS and PCM software updated last December at my Mazda dealer due to a TSB of my Flexible Maintenance on oil change interval problem. Our special-ordered CX-5 was built in January 2015. The OS version of infotainment system was 51.00.350 from factory. The updated version is 55.00.753 NA N. But I just learned from another thread that the latest version, 55.00.760 A, is now available.

I believe the infotainment system is WiFi capable in Europe, but it is disabled by Mazda for the US/NA market. People hacked it to make it WiFi enabled.

Make sure to set your maintenance app to "Flexible" for oil change interval once you have your new CX-5. You can have up to 10.000 miles or 12 months for your OCI. Check your Owner's Manual for details.

Thanks. yrwei52. The dealer promised the delivery on Thursday. Between setting the Oil change interval to Flexible. Can you please elaborate. I didnt get it

"Flexible" oil change schedule has been widely used in Europe and other countries for years to maximize the oil life and minimize the oil wastes. You don't need to guess the oil change interval (OCI) for different or changing environments and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) will do the calculation for you.

You set it in Maintenance Monitor under Application/Maintenance screen. Among "Maintenance", "Tire Rotation" and "Oil Change" tabs, select "Oil Change" and set it to "Flexible". You'll see it displays engine oil life in % until the oil replacement is due. "Oil change due" is displayed in red and the wrench indicator light in the instrument cluster will be illuminated when the remaining oil life distance is less than 250 miles (500 km), or remaining days are less than 15 (whichever comes first).

This engine oil flexible maintenance can be used in Schedule 1, which otherwise has 7,500-mile or 6-month fixed OCI; AND Schedule 2, which otherwise has 5,000-mile or 4-month fixed OCI. The flexible OCI can be up to 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first. This is best suited for CX-5 owners with minimum driving miles, and he/she doesn't have to change oil at 6-month interval with only 2,000 miles, for example. It also benefits high mileage drivers as he/she may be able to change oil at 10,000 miles instead of 7,500 or 5,000 miles. Most importantly, using engine oil flexible maintenance won't void your 3-year/36,000-mile new-vehicle warranty and 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty!

This Maintenance Monitor serves only as a reminder. You can change your oil anytime you want, and reset it after the oil change. Each time you hit "Reset" in engine oil flexible maintenance , the oil life will be set to 100% again and start a new calculation. This means if you don't feel comfortable changing oil at 10,000 miles, you can always change your oil earlier and reset the engine oil flexible maintenance to 100% of oil life in Maintenance Monitor.

"The onboard computer in your vehicle calculates the remaining oil life based on engine operating conditions when selecting flexible maintenance. Mazda Genuine 0W-20 Oil and Castrol 0W-20 Oil are required to achieve optimum calculation performance."
