What did you pay for your CX-5?

I'm hoping that it has the CPO warranty? Did you check the CarFax? Nearly all the CPO CX-5's we found were former Enterprise rental cars, and those get too much abuse for my tastes.

In the end, we didn't pay very much more for a brand new '16 than what non-rental CPO's were going to cost.

does Mazda do Black Friday sales? I'm about to buy a Touring and wondering if I should just hold out another week or so.

Wondering the same thing myself, however, it is also the last weekend of the month, so that should help as well...

I'm about to buy a 2016 sonic silver FWD Touring with Bose Moonroof pkg and got email quotes from all dealers within 100 miles. I don't want the tech pkg. The lowest quote so far said:

Price: 25134
Processing Fee: 397
Taxes: 1949.12
Tag: 106.50
Total OTD: 27586.52

Is that a good price? Should I pull the trigger or wait till the end of Nov? Is the $397 Processing Fee the same as a Doc Fee? Can it be negotiated out?

Think the processing fee is going to be there unless you pay cash. The 397 is not too bad as the best I've had yet was 299, and the highest being 699(which I won't pay). Unfortunately, the best selling price I've had so far was the one with the highest doc fee...go figure. Luckily here though, taxes are a max at 300, and tag is 69. Good luck in your purchase. I'd try to keep on going a little lower, as it's definitely not going to hurt if it pushes to next weekend, being the end of the month and black friday should give you even more wiggle room...

I plan to pay cash. Should I insist they waive the processing fee?

For sure, and probably come off the selling price another $500 as well, maybe even more. They have huge incentives to sell at this time. Don't let them fool you...lol

Hi Everyone
New potential Mazda owner - I've had Hondas for years.

Local dealer gave me an OTD price of $33,728.83 for the following:
(Edit: they are telling me the selling price is $31,336 ($100 over their invoice) with $750 former Honda owner credit)
Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring FWD 2016
Ext. Color: Blue Reflex Mica
Remote engine start (dealer installed)
cargo cover
floor mats
i-Activesense package
Grand touring Tech package

A dealer in Houston has the same thing with OTD pricing of $31,659. Since they are 200 miles away, I can't really look at the car itself but it makes me wonder if they are wheeling and dealing somehow.

Please let me know what you think of the deals. Going to bite the bullet soon - today or tomorrow.
Thanks!

$100 over invoice isn't a great price IMO. $1000-$1400 under or so is possible. But, that $31,659 is an awesome price if it included the Remote Start and i-Activesense. What are your taxes and doc fees etc in Texas?

Hi
Thanks for the questions.
Got a little more data - devil is always in the details, right??

Local dealer has offered:
CX-5 Grand Touring, Front Wheel Drive (confirmed VIN#)
i-Activesense Package
Technology Package
Sirius Satellite Radio, Retractable Cover and Roof Rack with Side Rails
Dealer installed key-fob remote start.
3/36 btb warranty
7/100k power train warranty
(and other items as set forth on mazdausa sticker)
Total drive out price of $33,000.

The Houston dealer has shown their true colors by stating the great deal was through Mazda financing.
Since I already have 1.45% from my credit union, I don't need his so he moved his OTD price to
Msrp: 32,105
Sales: 30,111.00
Driveout: 32,727.00

The local dealer through in the 7/100k power train extension - worth anything? - other than that, they are the same care.

Open to input.
Thank you everyone!!

Dealer name please

Thanks for the feedback and letting me think out loud. Went for a crystal white pearl GT w/Tech. Everyone is in love with it, including me :D
Just over 31K after taxes/fees.

Hello,

Could you please share the dealer name please ? I'm from chicago and I'm planning to buy mazda cx-5 GT w/Tech 2016. I would appreciate your feedback

Just got my 2016 CX-5 GT AWD, GT Tech & iActivsense packages, today.

Price: $31,485
Out the door with Tax (9.7%), License and $150 fee was $34891

Not the best price I've seen, but I didn't have to spend a lot of time haggling, and I'm pretty happy.

My previous car was a 2002 CR-V EX, that has lasted me 13.5 years, I hoping to get at least that out of this car too.

Congrats, sir! That selling price is within a couple hundred bucks of the lowest prices I've gotten or seen, so i think you did well enough...Enjoy!

Thanks NelsonLewis, I think user lritting got a ~$700 better deal, but it looks like he worked at it a bit.

I paid mazda cx-5 2016 AWD GT with Tech package for 32,200 OTD including 9.5% tax. Is this a good deal? And, I also feel that I committed for higher APR. Can I try for refinancing if someone gives a better APR?

Was that price with any other incentives? If you paid $29141 selling price before your taxes with no incentives, you got a great deal. Even if it includes $500 incentive for financing through Mazda, you still got a good deal...

Just wanted to thank everyone who has posted selling price recently. I have been reading the post for a couple of months. It sure help me with negoiations etc. the deal I got for a CX-5, touring with moonroof/bose & tech was

MSRP $30,400
Sales $27,996
OTD $ 30,660

OTD included 8.75% sales tax, title, registration, & $75 doc. processing. MSRP also include crystal white paint and floor mats. I had to take the 2.9% financing to get lowest price but will be refinancing at 2% before the end of the year. It was interesting that this did not take a lot of effort just a couple of emails to internet sales and a pitch that I was on the fence with the ford escape freinds and neighbors (X plan) discounts (-$3000).

Just bought my new 2016 sonic silver CX-5 FWD Touring with the Bose Moonroof package, Nav, and retractable cargo cover. Really happy with the Black Friday weekend deal I was able to negotiate. I've been eyeing the CX-5's ever since they came out in 2013, but my old 2002 Mazda Tribute has held out so well...it wasn't until today that I finally pulled the trigger on the purchase. I started out about a week ago by emailing the closest 5 dealers within 100 miles of me. My email letter looked something like this:

"Dear Mazda Internet Sales Manager,
I'm ready to buy a new 2016 FWD CX-5 Touring in sonic silver with only the Bose Moonroof package, no other add-ons. I'm planning to buy within 2 weeks so I would appreciate if you could send me your best quote for a car on your lot that meets the requirements above as soon as possible. Please indicate the stock or VIN number for the car you are quoting so I can see it online. I will do all my negotiations only once online, so please quote me your absolute best and final offer. I am contacting a number of dealers, and I am prepared to buy from whoever emails me back the best quote and OTD price. Thank you, "

I received prompt email responses from all 5 dealers. Luckily the lowest quote was from the dealer that was closest to me. That dealer also gives a lifetime powertrain warranty. Thanksgiving I happened to get an email from the dealer about their Black Friday weekend sale. They were offering free Navigation cards ($399 value) this weekend only on new vehicles. Since I was not wanting to get the tech pkg , the Nav sd-card was something I really wanted and intended to buy later through eBay cheaper. The free Nav offer actually got me down to the dealer and sealed the deal for me tonight. Here's the deal I negotiated:

2016 sonic silver CX-5 FWD Touring with Bose Moonroof
MSRP: $27,225 ($25,215 base + $880 destination fee + $1,130 Bose Moonroof)
Sales Price: $25,134
Loyalty Credit: -$750 (this dealer actually gave $250 in addition to Mazda's $500 loyalty)
Processing Fee: $397 (I tried my best, but they wouldn't wave this even though I paid cash)
Taxes: $1949.12
TN Tags: $106.50
Free Options: Nav SD-card, retractable cargo cover, lifetime powertrain warranty, and also asked for the 2 tie down hooks that are usually missing from the spare tire tray)
Total OTD: $26,836.62 cash

They also looked at my 2002 Mazda Tribute, but I opted not to trade-in because I already have a buyer lined up with a verbal $3500 offer on it.
Thank you everyone on this thread, it was a tremendous help to me. Now if this Cx-5 serves me well for at least 13 years like my Tribute did, I'll be happy. Zoom! Zoom!

I bought my first Mazda last Tuesday night. I've previously owned Honda's and made the switch. Picked up a 2016 CX-5 GT with the tech and I-activsense packages. I also purchased an extended warranty that totals 96 months.

MSRP: $32, 580.00
Sales price: $30,900.00
Taxes $1496.00
AL tag $16.50
Warranty $2451.45
Total OTD $34,864.18

No rebates or incentives as I didn't qualify for any and paid cash.
Negotiated for about 3 hours and nearly walked out before it was over.
