Game: Guess That Unsprung Weight! =Mazda5 Edition=

:
2008 Mazda5 GT
Some of us have touched some if not all of these parts. Any idea how much these weight? Any guesstimate and ball-park will do!

Assuming stock values.
Wheel (rim+tire+TPMS/valve+balance weights): 50 lbs?
Rotors: 12 lbs?
Caliper (bracket+pads+hardware)? 18 lbs?
Wheel hubs (bearing+sensor/wires): 15 lbs?
Half-sprung portion (driveshafts, springs, shock absorbers, and suspension links): 25 lbs?
Something else: ?

My total = ~120 lbs?

(hint: there is no wrong answer and anyone who plays WINS!)

A complete front strut assembly is probably twenty five pounds, front rotor about ten. The calipers are pretty light i would guess less than ten pounds. Now, what do i win?

When I get back from this next trip I'll be replacing all the brake hardware on the front end of the 5. Of course I'll weigh everything as it comes off. The struts/springs were already weighed in my BC coilover install thread. Stock wheel/tire/TPMS/weights were just over 46 pounds I believe.

Yeah, but only the bottom part of the strut is unsprung... as is 2/3 of the control arm.

Then there's the fact that there's no good way to account for stiction in the strut, short of direct measurement.

You. just. WIN. And more importantly, not lose :D

anyone else want to take a SWAG (scientific wild-ass guess) at it? I need to figure what springs to buy -I think...
