Hello,
So, my partner just got a 2015 Mazda CX-5 - he loves it except there was some "confusion" in the sense that he did not want the roof side rails (he would never use the rack, crossbars and prefers the look without them). Our mistake, but he accepted delivery of the car with the side rails - under the condition that it be removed. A week or so later he's getting a lot of flack from the dealer that the body shop does not know how to remove the side rails, no one has ever done that before... blah blah. Unless something has changed radically from 2013 - it seems to me that the rails were installed using pre-drilled holes, the trim was cut, and that was that. Am I correct in saying that to remove them the dealer would just have to... unscrew them... and replace with two new door trims, each under $40? After seeing the 2013 installation manual for them I just can't think that reversing them would be such a big deal... opinions?
Thanks!
