Car just doesn't seem to warm up

It seems like the heater in my CX5 just doesn't get too hot. This morning on my drive into work it seemed like it was blowing cold air the whole time
I keep my car in a attached garage. According to the thermometer in the car it was 40 degrees. The outside temperature was 15. My commute is about 20 minutes of
stop & go driving. I had the temp sent at 77. The blue cold engine never did go off. I'm concerned that maybe the themostat may of crapped out.

Anyone else have any issues?

The fact that the temp light didn't go out in 20 minutes of driving does sound a bit suspicious. We don't get outside temps near that cold in Northern Calif, but I'm often amazed (or rather incredulous!) at how quickly mine goes out. Usually no more than half mile.

Sounds like a thermostat is stuck open.

If the thermostat is stuck open or lazy the computer will be quick to throw the engine light on. It could be that the mixing valve for the heater in your car is malfunctioning. You should take this to the dealer. This morning it was 0F and it seemed to take less than 10 minutes for mine to warm-up or about 3 to 3.5 miles with a 2.5.

Mine takes 7-8 min before the cold engine light goes off. I don't put the heat on before then because it's a waste. It usually takes 10 or so minutes to warm up my vehicle after I put the heat on. Keep in mind that's with 15 degree weather and the car sitting outside all the time.

If I don't plug in the block heater or remote start the car when it is cold out, it can often take 20 minutes to heat up. Particularly if you aren't giving it a proper run with some continuous driving. Part of it is the thermal efficiency of the engines; there are lots of threads on the board about this.

Take a test run on clear roads on the weekend, and I'm sure you'll find the car warms up a lot quicker.

Here in CT with temps below 15 F the blue light is off in about 10 minutes tops with no fan on. I think you have a fixable problem.
