Better safe than sorry. For most of the CX-5 owners here who went OEM, down-stepping is standard practice.

One quick question: have you managed to bring on the Parrot screen the parking sensors graphics found of the original unit? I mean, the car image showing which corner/side of the car is in fact detecting and obstacle, while sensors produce the beeps?

The parking sensors weren't available in the 2014 model year North American CX-5, as far as I know. In any case, I don't have them in my Grand Touring model, so I am unfortunately unable to provide any insight. My guess is that what you are asking may not be possible—just one of those things that is inbuilt to the manufacturer stereo and lost when it is removed. But again, I just don't know, sorry!

FYI,

You can have the parking sensors installed as a dealer installed option. I have them on my 2014 CX5 GT! No graphics on the screen, just the audible beeps alerting you of the distance behind you.

Parrot RNB6 seems really awesome. I decided to wait for it to be available and go with that. I am really hoping it will come with dedicated interfaces to allow all car systems to fully integrate. Theoretically, we may be able to see parking sensors on the display and, why not, access the otherwise lost car configuration settings. It may be a long shot, but if Parrot is looking to bring Apple Carplay and Android Auto to a wide range of cars, that is I think a possibility.

I apologize for digging up an older post. I am hoping the OP can possibly assist with some information. I am in the process of purchasing a 2015 CX5 Touring, no tech, no Bose. I installed the Parrot Asteroid Smart into my previous car last year and I absolutely love the thing. The thing has worked flawlessly for me and I love everything it can do. No current stock infotainment system comes close (in my opinion). The plan is to move the head unit into the new Mazda.

Here is my main question: Which Harness/SWC adapter works? The Axxess ASWC-1, according to Crutchfield, is not compatible with the car. Does this in fact work? The piece that does work according to them is the PAC RP4-MZ11 but is it compatible with the Parrot? Will the Axxess AX-SWC-PARROT Steering Wheel Control Harness work with the PAC unit?

I just want to make sure I collect all the necessary pieces in order to make this install happen successfully.

Really happy with my Asteroid Smart in the CX-5. I just sold the car and I'm sad to see it go!

Agreed. Showing them jclpremier's thread is your best shot, but it's no guarantee that the installer is knowledgeable enough to do it well. For instance, the installer I spoke with was even baffled by how I spliced RCAs onto the harness to use the pre-amp outputs. I thought this would be pretty accessible to someone who passed MECP...

Daniel, how did you connected the camera oem harness to the RCA video? I installed an Avic 8100NEX To my Mazda6 2015 with Bose. Everything is up and running (steering controls, anthena is working, etc) but I cannot make my camera work, even after following this tread instructions. Any help will be greatly appreciate.
