You should check out the game Ingress for the Android (and now IOS) smartphones. Great way to spend free time getting out and about and exploring cities and towns.
If you do check it out, make sure you pick The Enlightened, the green team. They're the good guys.

I have ingress, but I barely played when it first came out, and never went back to it. I think I'm on the blue team.

I had a feeling you'd say that. Don't know why, just had a feeling. LOL.

It's blown the eff up lately. From what folks have told me... it's much bigger and better than it was 6 months ago.

Heh, I got in when it was invite only. It was cool, but I didn't have time or gas to screw around with it much. Then I had a son, and its all gone. I think I'm still level 1.

I can definitely see that. I spend so much time doing s*** on this game. In two weeks, I've hit level 6. On the plus side, I've gone from going to bars and out to eat 4-5 nights a week to once a week on average. Instead, I head somewhere, walk around, play the game, etc. In fact, this Saturday, there's going to be a cross-faction cooperation that's going to put most of Ohio under two fields, side by side. Green field going from put in bay to ashtabula and down to akron. Blue field from cedar point to columbus to akron IIRC.

Now that's impressive. If I had the 6 running, I might consider going. I just don't want to take my sick son out of the house right now though without air in any cars.

The other thing that killed the game for me is like 80% of places to visit are government buildings (schools, post office, police station, city centers) which are all not carry friendly. I'd have to think way ahead and leave it all at home, which I don't really like.

Well, my boss said I should just stay in Columbus wednesday night, since it's a 2 day course. Anyone want to meet up in C-bus wednesday 7/30 for dinner?

There's a bunch of C-bus Miata guys going karting tomorrow night at Grand Prix Indoor (gpindoor.com). They are combining the two tracks into one giant (super) track. Just an FYI, not sure where in Cbus you'll be.

Yeah, it's expanded a lot. My typical places that I hit are around parks. Lake Anna in Barberton, within a quarter mile walk, I can hit 10 portals. Expand to a half mile walk and I'm tagging 15. Falls River Square in Cuyahoga Falls has a dozen in the party area, and another dozen or more a couple streets out. Medina is currently a huge ******* hub of portals. That's where a lot of people go out to "farm" (go around and hit a metric s*** ton of portals in a small area to build up inventory). Lemme see about putting a screen shot on here.
