Castrol Bullk Oil at Dealer

Mazda has their own GL-5 0w20 that is said to be great oil with a robust additive pkg including a good amount of moly additive according to the www.bobistheoilguy.com forum.
When looking at the CX accessories at the parts area I saw bottles of the Mazda GL-5 oil.I asked a service adviser what oil is used and he said Catrol and gave me a rebate coupon for Castrol oil.
I'll pay extra and request the Mazda oil when due for a oil change but who knows if they'll actually add it.

I agree with your suspicions. I have worked, as a technician and service manager at a couple of dealerships, and their bulk oil comes from an oil truck pumped into the dealerships' containers, so I wouldn't trust what's going into your vehicle. I would buy the bottled oil and watch them put it in, that's the only way you can be sure.

Mazdas special moly oil is sold only in quarts. My dealers bulk oil GTX is offered up in a blend 5w20. I'm with Skorpio on this. Ed
