Random side note: I just renewed my tickets for the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2015. Here's hoping that there are still some teams left in the series by then!
Ha, that's exactly the reason I didn't renew. Don't get me wrong, it was fun as hell but I don't like the direction USCR is going and Mazda's showing is pathetic. It's basically Grand-AM but with factory-backed GT teams. Nobody cares about the P1, PC, or GTD cars.
I always preferred ALMS to Grand-Am as a fan. It seemed to me that there were always better drivers and teams in ALMS. More factory backed operations for example. Plus the tire competition was great.
IMSA has done a great job of screwing up everything this year though. The TV coverage is garbage too btw.
Ever since the RX8s disappeared from GT racing (for understandable reasons) I've found the CTSCC much more interesting. Yeah they're slow but 60+ cars on track, even those as large as Daytona, is fun to watch. Watching them dive into Madness right after the start at Mid-Ohio is something to see! I could see myself getting into PWC more if the races were longer.I can tell you that the Conti Series is so much better than the Tudor Series, better racing in IMO
I've noticed this year I have been paying more attention to other racing and been watching more Pirelli and Conti series racing. USCR better get their s*** together.
I am looking forward to the Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio though. What other series are racing there that weekend?
In addition to the Verizon IndyCar Series headlining the weekend, the following series will also be run: the entire Mazda Road to Indy ladder with Indy Lights, Pro Mazda Championship and USF2000 National Championship, as well as the Pirelli World Challenge.I've noticed this year I have been paying more attention to other racing and been watching more Pirelli and Conti series racing.
