The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Weekend was nice for not having work, but the wife had to work Saturday, and my son is still sick, nasty cough with tons of runny noses. Made the weekend kinda miserable.

Other than that, it was very nice sitting around and watching tv.

I did pull the starter on the FC because it wouldn't start (got me home Thursday, and wouldn't start 20 minutes later, barely cranked) and tested it. The motor itself is shot, barely spins. That should be in today to replace after work (in the heat). Pisses me off, those reman units suck ass, its less than 2 years old.

Great weekend @ Lime Rock! Great racing, great food and great seeing old friends from the NE. I also got news from MId-Ohio that we can have a Car Corral for the Indy 200! We will have the info as soon as we can! I know that Jason Saini will be here with World Challenge and in an MX-5......this event will be a lot of fun!

Was able to get Tom Long and Andrew Carbonell to commit to the Labor Day HPDE with Autointerests, Whitey is getting a new RSB from JBR, the 6's got new Air Diverson Panels from JNA and Spicy ran great and I now I can install the 2nd 12 inch fan an the AWR RSB from Phen, as I have the new hardware, needed!

Weekend was good. Friday I took half a day took my mom to pick up her car and went to my sister's track meet where she got 2nd at pole vault and raised her PR by 5 inches. So she will be moving onto regionals. Then I went to Menchies to hang out with a nice quiet little group. Saturday I started at 9 and finished at 4:30 with wash, claybar, polish, and wax. She looks great (well till I drove it around). Sunday was my sister's graduation so she is out of school now. Monday I enjoyed the weather and spent a bunch of time outside with Jennifer.
Side note Jennifer was at Nationals for DII outdoor track and she got 3rd in High jump.

Yeah, I saw those on FB. $72 is a pretty penny for something that isn't really doing anything.

Nothing wrong with a vanity mod unless you're that guy saying it does something besides look cool. ;)

How was everyone's long weekend? Glad everyone made it safely home from Lime Rock.

Was pretty good. Friday I got some stuff done around the house, then hung out with two guys from work in the afternoon at one of those trendy new vapor shops. Saturday the wife left for Toledo for the night and I "worked", then met up with one of my fraternity brothers for fajitas and beers that night. Sunday I washed the car and went to a Focus meet. Monday I worked part of the day, planted some flowers and had Chipotle with the wife.

Picked up this beauty today:

Everything is good, except the morons in Service put on a front license plate despite being told specifically not to by the salesman. He's going to check with them on Tuesday to see about body colored plugs. Just got through doing some setup stuff (Bluetooth, Homelink), still lots to go but damn does this thing have a lot of electronic stuff on it.

Congrats Chief!!!! Looks good and sux that the morons there drilled thru the bumper. I'd demand a new cover! (evil) Sad to see that the MS6 went though. Hopefully she will go to a good home.

Yeah, I had a similar thing on my P5 but it was $35 new. $72 is a bit much for vanity. I'm just getting old and cranky, never mind me.

Looking good. We are going to be getting a Touring model (in black mica) in the next week or so. We have until June 2nd to get in on the $500 Memorial day rebate. I wish the touring came with wheels that look more like the GT wheels. The stockers on the touring look terrible. Speaking of front license plates, my wife (who is a dispatcher for the state patrol) almost got a ticket for not having a front plate on her 3. The trooper in charge (not sure of his rank) was pretty pissed that she didn't have one, since it is the law in Ohio. I zip-tied it to the grille. lol

I wish they would pull their panties out of their vagina about that "law"

They don't do anything on your cars? They do on Miatas due to where the radiator is positioned.

They might, but realistically, probably very little since that ducting is for the top mount. If he made a good seal I would consider one, but not for $72. And they cut out their logo from the material which is kinda silly. But I'll check out Marlons next time I see the Waggin.

LOL, good call on that. Remove material from a diverter plate to allow air to... escape?

Truth! I put off "installing" it as long as I could. I put it on the morning of the day she would get the ticket and discipline. I think the law should be put on the dealers to have them installed as part of the prep. Free of charge no less.

The dealers in medina will not let the car leave without the front bracket on the car. I had to force the tech from putting the front plate on Baby Marc's car

I bet they would if you say "No front plate or no deal."

Good for them I don't see how a dealer in ohio can legally sell a car without a bracket. I hate them as much as the next person but laws is laws. It pisses me off every time I see a car without a front plate after all the s*** Jen was given at work. I guess when you work for the state patrol you have to be a good example or some kind of s*** like that. lol

I'm sure they would fold like a lawn chair if someone dropped that one on them.
I'll do this next time! My Fiat came without one, thankfully. The Mazda 2 came with the pop-in bracket delete in the trunk, it went on the first day I discovered it was back there!

The only time I've been hassled for it was when I got pulled over for 55/35 and pleaded for no ticket, so he said since I didn't have a front plate, he'd write me for that ($110). Win!

Worked for me with the STi. I told my sales guy I'd refuse delivery if they put any holes in the front bumper for a license plate.

I know I'd rather not have a front plate on our CX5 when we get it. Problem is Jen will put the bulk of the miles on it so that means it must have it since she will drive it to work.
