Thinking about new wheels

Konig Dial-in 15x8 +25 offset . They are flow formed which is the process enkei uses on the rpf's and has finally licensed to other manufactures . They only weigh 12lbs and I'm loving the look .

Yea I am very excited about these, though I actually prefer the advanti racing storm S1. Same fittment, but a pound lighter and easier to wash (less spokes). I'd definately consider running them on the miata.

I like the Advanti Storms too , it's a toss up . I read that many companies are going to design new flow formed wheels , the next gen. 6ul's among them .

New Parts !

My stock front pads are on they way out and it's time for an upgrade , I've been looking for an excuse to change the rotors as well. I ordered the Corksport pads , semi-mettalic/ceramic = awesome . I'm eager to see how they do in my mix of stop and go traffic and occasional on ramp fun. As usual they were helpful and I had them in a few days.

I got lucky with my factory rotors , no pad deposits or vibrations they've done well. I had my eye on the Stoptech rotors or centric replacements but after some serious "interneting" found a company in California Cquence that will machine to order rotors . The casting is high carbon steel , machined hat, mill balanced and the whole thing is Ecoated. They can mill custom patterns , since my car will only see daily drive duty and no racing I got cool looking ones . It took a week to process and machine them and I got them a few days later .They actually just threw them in a box , they destroyed the box as it was splayed open and mended with tape previously and unsuccessfully . Rotors were undamaged the box had to be put down .


I call it "confetti" , manufacture says "bi directional slots"

I'm waiting on Stoptech lines , but I will install the pads and rotors this weekend.

Venting

Driving to work this morning another driver ran over a truck tire tread and it flew right into my path . It was huge and made a racket as I ran into and over it . Looks like no major damage but it broke some clips on the front bumper around the headlight, I have to crawl under the car and do a once over. This is why I can't have nice things.(gah)

Update

•Corksport Pads
I've put more than 4000 miles on the Corksport pads and they have performed well . Daily highway and city driving produce lighter than normal brake dust . While bedding in and during spirited driving these pads remove a lot of material and can coat a wheel quickly. It seems to have a more aggressive initial bite than the stock pads . Overall very happy with them.

•Cquence Rotors
Same 4000 miles on the rotors too, and their doing a good job. They are well balanced and quite , they came up to temp with out incident while bedding in. Oxidization began quickly on machined surfaces as expected but they still look nice .

Install was super easy , just needed the pads to slide in place.

After a few laps of 50-5 mph stops and a cool down , you can see steel has a nice straw color and the beginnings of a transfer layer from the pads.
