What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Nah, she wants something else. Ranging from an Eos to a Challanger, she can't decide.
I hear ya. My wife doesn’t like the Mz5 either and only agreed to stick with it no thanks to my persuasion; she was pressing for something different. I said, it was either the Mz5 GT or BRZ – end discussion (for now) :D. I though you getting a GLK?

GLWS. I was lucky and quickly found a very anxious buyer b/c he talked his wife into driving a manual Mz5 to go along with his manual Mz3. He wanted to quickly settle on the car before his wife changes her mind, ha! He also said it was “HARD” to find a reasonably priced manual Mz5! I sold it for a good deal since I got it for a good deal –karma. Then I found my current GT for a great deal.

I finally got off the fence and bought a MS3 rear sway bar. Now I just need to get new bushings for the front sway bar to get rid of the clunking. Then I can pray for some decent weather to get it all installed.

Integrated a Qi wireless charger for my Nexus 5 -

Nice! Does it work well? I use this charge at home and it can't charge through my case, I'm surprised it works at all through the console.
I though it only works 3mm to 5 mm away.

Do you have a small write up as to how you've done it?

Very nice tuanies. I am going to keep an eye out for your posts. You seem to be doing some interesting things to improve your micro-van

Here you go phunky.

Well I am officially poorer, but soon to be faster. Just swiped the credit card for a shiny new GT2871R.

I know what you mean. I think it's a great ride, she doesn't. Got her all waxed and cleaned with fresh photos up on autotrader, here's hoping for $7,400.

Something this good should not get lost in this thread. You must start a new thread and update us on your build!

Looks like you are going the DIY route? Have you found a suitable turbo mani? If you dont mind sharing, what is your target budget and end goal? Exciting! (thumb)

I'll post a separate thread. But as a quick reply:
Yes, DIY.
Using stock ms3 manifold. It is cheap b/c all the ms3 guys are replacing them; they aren't the super best manifold available, but it's $50 instead of $850, and there are ms3guys making 400+hp on stock manis, so the mani won't be any sort of bottleneck for my setup.
Budget will be a bit under $4k for the turbo system. I considered a couple different turbo and downpipe options to keep the cost under $3k, but I think the extra $1k is worth it for my purposes.
End goal - as in power? Probably 250-275whp. Joe at Dynotronics keeps telling me the 2.5 is reliable up to and over 300whp, but I don't want to push it that far.

Interesting. Any idea how much power could be made just by using a stock MS3 manifold / turbo setup? What all needs to be upgraded? I'm only looking for modest power, ie 200hp or so.

$2500 probably for a low budget setup using a used k04. It would have no problem doing 200whp.

Manifold
Turbo
Downpipe
FMIC & piping
Injectors
Oil & water lines
Engine management

It's easy! /s

Hardwired a Papago GoSafe WiFi dash cam into the car. It's wired into ignition and automatically turns on when the car is running.

I love these hard wire USB adapters from EDOTECH

From the driver's seat. I'll eventually clean this up when I get a Gentex homelink mirror.

How did you take out the right a-pillar trim? I had a hell of a time and did not really manage to get it out.

Woooooo nice. I never considered the MS3 manifold since I've been told it doesn't bolt up- let me know though. If it does, I'll pick one up right away!

heh, it better bolt up, or I'm gonna be pissed (at myself)! Everything I've read says it will.

Are you rubbing at all? That red was my first choice but I didn't want to drive 400+ miles to a dealership that couldn't decide if was a Gt or a Sport. In my younger years, I've had the old bait and switch pulled on me. Live and learn. That red looks good sitting down on those RX8 wheels.
