Hi all,

The windshield air vent position (rightmost vent position) is not staying in place. It does stay rarely in place but if I take too many bumps, it switches back to "legs and windshield". It does not seem to have the "click" feel like other position do.

Warranty call?

Thank you.

Mine stays in place and has that "notch" feel. It has never gotten out by itself. Check with your dealer.

Mine exhibits the same behavior of no "notch" feel but it has never bumped out of the right setting. The entire knob itself feels very strange in that it is easy to turn at first and then is mroe difficult to turn the further clockwise I go. When I first bought the car, I could not get it to stay in the defrost only position at all.

I assume this applies to those with manual climate controls?

Yeah, only manual climate control have that problem.

I have the same issue as well in my 2014 Touring, really hard to turn it all the way to windshield position. At first I thought I was the only one with the problem since I didn't see too much mention of it.

I had a similar issue when I first got my 2014. If I turned the manual selector knob all the way to the right, it would sometimes spring back one notch on its own right after. With over 17,000 miles on the odo now it doesn’t do that anymore and seems to have broken in. I was going to take it to the dealer but visions of those guys tearing my dash apart, losing fasteners, and breaking clips made we wait to see if it would break in and it did. My 2013 never had that issue. Every time I've taken my car to the dealer its come back with some other damage it didn’t have before. The worst one was the time they crushed the plastic under body panels with the lift and didn’t say anything. They crushed the floor pan of my wife’s Jetta a long time ago too.
