Mazda 2 2011 Automatic - how to disassemble the transmission plastic cover?

Hi!
I need to paint the transmission plastic cover (because of this http://imgur.com/KlyLRgn), how do i disassemble it?

I'm guessing i need to remove the automatic gear knob, how to do that?

in case i wasn't clear - I'm talking about the gray plastic cover on 4610x http://bit.ly/1jAMPkj

Search the googles and the tube of you for instructions on replacing the radio. Part of the process is removing that cover.

Thanks, But i couldn't find one that is specific to automatic transmission, any other Advice?

You're likely not going to find one specific to automatics. Either you will need to spend a few hundred dollars on a Factory Service Manual, or pull off what you can and figure out how it's attached. Removing the black trim ring and the lower console cover is the same, then it's going to be observation. Remember, every part was assembled, it can be disassembled.

You can easily remove the black plastic shroud that surrounds that part by using a screw driver. See where that gets you, then go from there.

Looks like the trim surround pops off like the manuals but without the boot.
