OEM rear spoiler for hatchback installed

:
2017 CX-5 GT w/ Premium Pkg.
So I recently bought the OEM rear spoiler and had it installed today. Here's a few quick pics. It's nothing extreme but I think it completes the back end more now as it used to look like it's missing something back there lol

Had the dealer install them for me. Basically need to remove the original spoiler and drill couple of holes to mount the other spoiler on, then mount it back onto car. Sounds easy enough but I'm not that handy so had the dealer install them. If you're handy you can probably do it yourself and save the $$$ on labor.

Would love to see some more pics :) Maybe a side shot from further away and a rear shot? I like it, would look good with the front lip too, at least thats what I would like to do at some point.

I don't think I'm going to get the lip kit for this car, don't really like how it looks but if it was color matched with my car I would probably get it :D

Here's some more shots, side shot too.

looks great..but i don't think it'll work with my bike rack that hangs on top and rests along the rear roof. =(

The way it should have been. Mazda, are you listening?
What do you do with the original spoiler?
Mazda should have a trade-in program....

Looks like this bolts on top of the original spoiler. You can see it in the 3rd photo in the second set of photos.

The spoiler goes on top of the original one. You will need to take the original one out, put the templates on and drill holes on it then bolt the new one on top of it and then put everything back onto the car. Sounds easy enough but I had the dealer do it lol

But yeah, I love how it looks and the car now looks good from all angles :D Only issue with this is the space is so small it's a bit difficult to clean or dry. I will probably use a ruler to push a towel through the space to see if that's easier.

Well, no worry how to handle the old one, then.
Sounds silly, though. Extra weight....

Looks good man!, Hey lowincash, i know your screen name from v6performance.net and im under jobata23 over there and now i drive a Mazda

Hello, I know this thread is old but just stumbled into it when I googled. I bought a 2014 Mazda 3 hatchback S Grandtouring back in Feb 14 which has all the goodies. In this thread you mention that you removed to old spoiler and add the new OEM spoiler. I was looking for a little bit longer spoiler as I agree that it could be a little longer, but the dealer lists only one. It is not very clear to me but your picture of the spoiler in the box looks like the spoiler already on my car. The picture of your spoiler on your car does however look different then mine from the back view. There seems to be a gap on your spoiler and mine has no gap. Can you please clarify what exactly the stock OEM spoiler is vs. the new OEM spoiler?

Oh, and yea, this is my first post.

thanks.

The new OEM spoiler is bolted onto the tiny OEM one. The one on top is new and the one on the bottom is the original one. Installation requires removal of the original one and drilling some holes onto it then mount the new one on top, which gives you that little gap between the two.

Here's the back view

Thank you. If I could please ask a couple more questions. You mention the "tiny OEM one". Is that spoiler smaller then the new one? Can you give me a part number for the new one you bought?

thanks for the help, really appreciate it.

Sorry for the late response. The tiny OEM one I'm referring to is the one that came with the car. I call it tiny cuz it is kinda tiny lol
