2011 Mazda2 Touring, 99 Miata, 96 Miata
Hello, all. I've lurked these forums for a couple weeks while I was shopping for my Mazda 2. I wasn't sure where I should make my first post, since I actually own 3 Mazdas, but since buying my '2 prompted me, it got the honors. ;)

Anyway, as of December 30th, 2013, I am the proud owner of a new-to-me 2011 Mazda 2 touring. This thing is awesome! Quick pic:

I also own a 1999 Mazda Miata in Twilight Blue (matching hard top, too). This one runs on stock springs, but has every mod allowable in our local autocross group's stock class. As it sits, it won first place in the 2013 season with me behind the wheel. I've learned pretty much everything I know about performance driving and cars in general because of this Miata. I love this thing.

Then there's my 1996 NA Miata, also in red. Stock, nothing fancy, but it's a PEP package car with a limited slip diff, so it definitely feels good. The female companion drives this car. She keeps telling me that she wants performance goodies installed in her car because she keeps stealing my NB! Hahaha ;)

Finally, I'm the former owner of a 2002 Mazda Protege. I absolutely loved that car. It was a complete beater and horrifically abused by its previous owner, but that thing handled fantastically, had plenty of space, great driving position, and it was just a pleasure to drive. I miss that car, although I feel like I've filled that gap with my Mazda2. The Protege was automatic, unfortunately, but I paid a whopping $300 for the car. Yup.

Other previous cars are a 2002 BMW 330i (sold it to buy my Mazda 2) and a 2000 Honda Accord (sold it because it was so damn boring).

I will continue to lurk, except now I'll chime in once in a while. Expect a plethora of stupid questions from me, as well as occasional alll-in-good-fun trolling. ;)

Welcome! For a first mod I'd recommend going with a lighter set of rollers. Many options under 13 lbs for 15" setups, more/cheaper tire options as well. Yea, the 2 is a ton of fun though.

Greetings & welcome... nice looking 2...

You have the Mazda bug.... same here with 3 M2's.....

Welcome. Again another M2 owner who also owns a Miata. There really must be a rule about that.

Post any questions you have. Everyone here is really relaxed about things which is great. We will do our best to help you out.

First question: are those Team Dynamics Pro Race 2 wheels in your signature? If so, you're officially the only other person I know that has them other than me. ;)

You should see a spec miata paddock on a SCCA race weekend, they are everywhere it seems.

Welcome aboard. I also sold my BMW to set me up in my 2. I had a '91 318is coupe 5mt, w/LSD and some suspension bolt-ons. So far though, the 2 hasn't let me down. It's my first FWD after a decade of AWD and RWD cars.
