New (to me) Mazda 5

Picked up a 2008 Mazda 5 GS last week, 5 spd, 1600000 Kms (100k miles). It has a few dings to take care of but I got it for a great price so I didn't mind. The gas filler door won't open with the lever, the washer bottle cap is missing, things like that. No big deal.
Fun to drive though, and handles pretty good for a mini minivan.
I do miss the cruise control though, but has other nice features like steering wheel audio controls, auto hvac/headlights/wipers, rear ventilation (that doesnt work) and aux input. Not bad for a family hauler.

I removed the license plate bracket from the front, does that count as a mod? More to come.

Welcome! Have a look in lounge forum for a thread about rear AC not working, IIRC the fix was actually fairly simple and inexpensive. There is an electric actuator that gets stuck shut if it isn't exercised and cuts off the air. You have steering wheel audio but no CC? Thats gotta be one of them weird Canadian option packages....

Thanks for the info, I'll look into the fix for it. The weather is turning now anyway so it won't be needed until at least May/June.
As for the cruise, I thought it was weird too. Even the 02 Protege LX I had a few years ago had cruise. According to whatever been reading, it's already wired for it, just need the steering wheel controls and the brake switch.

as for the CC everything is already there, i heard most people get the Mazda3 steering and brake switch for cheap to get the cruise control

Went to a local junkyard today to see about acquiring a Mazda3 steering wheel with cruise, but they didn't have any. But I did get a couple of 2.3 emblems from one of the 3's there. Has anyone used this on their Mazda5? I was thinking either on the door like the Mazda3 or like this:
