MP5 turbo build

you could definitely do that, it might be more trouble than it's worth though
from behind my cat its all like 2.5" exhaust with a flow master muffler i believe the stock down pipe is 2 inch? and same to front of cat so i can see gutting or bypassing the cat being good. about how much performance will i gain? and if this is the original cat then its got 206k on it does that matter?

sent the car to the shop today so they can weld up my subframe because it rusted all the say to the inside. and after i get it back i think it gonna be a turbo install day!!!! i hope for today but if not it will be within a week of today!!!

car is all go to go!! went to go get all new gaskets for exhaust and turbo, also got some new line for turbo water feed/return, now im just waiting for a nice day to come by so i can hook everything up!!! i cant wait!!!

today i started the build but didnt get far.... i started to hear thunder and seeing some lighting... so i only got on the fmic and had to take the crash bar off to fit it... im looking to find a smaller fmic so i can put my crash bar back on so i can be a little more safe. hopefully i will be able to finish the build once the rain start. stupid tornado warning.....

today i tried to install my turbo but i couldn't finish because i needed to cut the metal and it to loud for the neighborhood, so just have to put the boost gauge hot pipe, and EBC

the pipe is sitting ont the top of the ac compresser and the way it look it should be lower but cannt because of the ac and for sideways i know ill have to cut the metal, but im fmic seems a lot lower compared to the pipe

Well I found out why the hot pipe wasn't going in. It was because the high ac tube was in the way. So I tried moving it out of the way.... Then I heard pppsssshhhh ops.... Well at least the hot pipe fits non. :-) turbo build will be finish within the next hour

Well got the turbo on and there was a oil leak gonna fix it today and the boost gauge said –12 and the highest was 3? Does this sound right? I have a ebc and it set to 6.9 for peak

-12 is definitely a vacuum leak. should be sitting between -19 to -22 at idle. and if youre hitting boost and only getting 3psi of boost again thats a definite boost/vac leak somewhere. recheck all your piping and couplers. wastegate could possibly be bad/blown

that would have nothing to do with it. a boost controller wont affect vacuum or boost unless the lines going to it are leaking. best just to recheck all your plumbing. IC piping couplers. wastegate. vacuum lines. check to make sure the turbo manifold isnt cracked (if its a stock MSP calloway manifold) make sure manifold is bolted down securely. like i said somethings definitely off.

also would it be bad to test it running the waste gate off boost presure and now a boost controller?

running the car with the wastegate off is a no-no. the wastegate is what controlls the boost pressure. the boost controller goes to the wastegate just delaying its effect of opening up later. so if a wastegate is just rated for 7psi thats the max youll ever see. with no wastegate youll build excess boost pressure and blow your engine. the wastegate is a crucial part of any turbo'd car.
