August 2014 - Record CX-5 sales so far

According to this site, CX-5 has sold in record high numbers in US and Canada in August.

It is almost 100% increase from last year.

Actually, CX-5 sales have been production constrained since it's introduction. Even when the only engine available was the sweet little 2.0L, they were selling all they could make. Production capacity has been ramped up rather dramatically since then.

Record numbers for CX-5 in US market. Nice chart Hollis, really shows how important the compact SUV/crossover market is for automakers.

Among the mainstream models the CX-5 is still trailing quite a lot. Though I don't think Mazda even has the capacity to do 30k units a month.

IMO, Mazda doesn't do mainstream automotive models. And fleet sales/rental car sales are a much smaller portion of their sales volume versus the mainstream automakers.
