OK so i have read the threads on motor mounts and came to the conclusion that AWR would be the best choice for motor mounts on our vehicles.

my p5's front motor mount is twisted and the rubber is sticking out, it needs to be replaced. the side monuts could use new inserts, but the actual mounts are fine. and i have no idea on the rear mount, is that the same as the transmission mount?

anyways, i was looking at the motor mount kits AWR has to offer, and they have several for the p5.

I know i need a kit with atleast the front motor mount, i think i may be able to do with the inserts for the left and right. i am not sure about the rear.

i am NOT going all out and spending the 430.00 for the 4 motor mounts, so does anyone out there have experience with any of the other kits? how do those inserts work?

lastly, the durometer. they come in 70, 88, and 95 being the stiffest. i have an auto so it recommends 88 for street app. however the kits with inserts instead of full mounts are only available in 70. how is this going to affect the ride?

question is, which kit would be the best for the buck? considering my needs.

best bang for the buck: AWR front (88 duro), 3M window weld filled tranny and passenger mount, stock rear.

if you can get a good look at your rear mount, just make sure its still there and the rubber isn't completely gone. go with the filled side mounts, unless you want a ridiculous amount of vibrations. the AWR front mount will actually give you decent feedback, but won't be obnoxious.

you know, i didnty even think about the vibrations. when i floor my car it jerks hard. atleast twice. so i was wanting that to go away, never did it cross my mind the stiffer the mounts, the stiffer the ride. so 3m window weld works good hu? i think ill go with a racing front motor mount, such as the AWR.. ill also give corcksport a look to see what they have, and try out the 3m window weld. after all filling them with silicone is cheap and really cant go wrong, im guessing worst case scenario i would mess it up? (some wierd way) and have to replace them which im looking into anyways. thanks!

I've got the CS front inserts and have been pleased with them. Bought the AWR PS inserts but my stock mount was torn to shreds so I couldn't use them. If you are trying to get rid of the vibes, def. keep the stock rear mount. I've read were the NVH from even the 70 durometer can be obnoxious.

I thought about doing the 3m window weld as well but didn't. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought that would make them even stiffer?

well my front mount is torn to shreds as well i need a new mount for sure. ill tell you what though this weekend before doing anything to the front mount, i will fill my left and right mounts with the 3M and update on the results.

If you get solid mounts you should get the softest duro you can. Do yourself a favor, especially since it is probably your daily and lets face it, P5s arent race cars they don't need crazy solid mounts. The 70 duro are stiff as hell anyway.

I have an 88 durometer AWR front mount. Definitely vibrates the car at idle. Most have my passengers have given me comments along the lines of, "it feels like a massage chair." To be honest it really doesn't bother me, especially since you can't tell once you stop idling.

The only problem is that the mount will expose any rattle your car has, or potentially could have. At the right RPM there is the most annoying rattling sound coming from my passengers side. Also anything such as water bottles, spare change, ect. will start buzzing at idle.

I definitely can tell a difference as far as responsiveness goes while accelerating hard. It also gives me some peace of mind knowing it isn't going to break when I drive the car hard.

If you're making relatively low power (stockish numbers) and wish to go to urethane mounts - then 3m WW would stiffen up the stockers. AWR 70 duro's would be perfect. I went up to the 88's for all mine when I boosted the KL - it made damn sure that any rubber mounts that were still installed were properly and promptly destroyed.....

idk I got lifetime warranty ones of ebay for like $120. Couldnt get the rear one on of courses, it was way too much work. But so far the engine doesnt move when I start it, and it seems solid. thats just from my experience.

alright, thanks for all the info!
so from all your input put together i came to the conclusion that i should get the front mount from either AWR or CS with the softest durometer (70) and 3M WW the side mounts, since the rear mount seems to be a b***** i will hope my car feels good with just those. If not ill do the rear when i remove engine for re-ringing. thanks again!

PS: i will probably go with AWR since i like red better lol

70 Awr for the front
If the rear is still in tact leave it
I have used 70 Awr inserts for pass and trans for sale. PM if interested
