I thought 300whp was at the limits for the k04 on 93 octane. Anything higher needs e85...correct me of im wrong (im guessing patrick will know since he is tuned for both)

you can get more than 300
 
Best VD Mike from stratified could get out of me on a k04 with 93 was 298 when it was 60* out and low humidity. I havent had a consistent temp run for a VD with the ethanol so I couldn't tell you. I say I would run on average about 275ish on 93 day to day. I also have bad gas by me. Drop a gallon of e into a full tank and get rid of that junk fuel
 
Not to change any subject, as there are many, just thought this was funny and wanted to share.

We replaced my friends rear hub/bearing on his 2007 VW Rabbit yesterday after work. The new bolt holding the hub on said to torque it to 148 lbs, then another 180 degrees. Holy crap! My torque wrench only goes up to 150 lbs. We were lifting the car up trying to get that extra 180 degrees. haha.

Well, it was funny to me. Sorry you read that and wasted 17.4 seconds of your afternoon. Boobs. There, all better.
 
my VD on an OTS map was 280 I wouldn't expect the dp and internals to add anything without the proper tuning to take advantage of it. Yes the hypertech is better than stock but I wouldn't expect over 300 at the wheels maybe 290
 
Boobs :) I thought you wantedore power before springs A.J.? Maybe after the autoX you changed your mind ;)
 
Thats what im thinking. Without downpipe my wastegate is maxxed out from 4500rpm on, and im near 260. On an ots, id see some increased power with an upgraded downpipe, but without tuning for it, it wont be too crazy

the other weekend when i replaced the cv axles, said tq from 180-230, so i set it for 210 and even with having a guy stand on the brake pedal, i was still spinning the axle some as well as rocking the car a tick on the 2 jackstands/rear tires, at one point i cranked so hard the one back wheel wasnt even touching the ground, haha OOPS
and dont even get me started on breaking that bastard of a nut loose!!! that was likely a sight to see as well LOL
 
I'm somewhere around 300 (estimated) was dynoed at 278 whp before dp, internals, and HT

Where is this magical dyno? I bet my car in all it's FWD glory would be putting down 700 whp.

Levi, we were using my awesome HF breaker bar with a HF jack handle for an extension. I'm surprised we didn't snap anything. He's just a little guy but I've got my gut I used for addition torque and there's still no way we were getting that extra 180'. We got about 90' and said good enough, high five, wrap this VW pos up and get it out of my garage. haha

im basing my numbers off of proven gains between mods from others, and peoples dynos with similar mods. the PO had it dynoed at the number i said
and corey i just got a huge chunk of income i wasnt expecting so i was gonna do springs and shocks but those add up to just about as much as coilovers so i figured id just spend the 850 on coilovers instead
 
I wanted to ask but didn't want to sound like a dick. That is a very optimistic dyno. I wouldn't think the car would be anymore than 260

I think Ivan dyno'ed around 265 at Mid-Ohio on a cold day with his mods. I wish he would chime in but he's probably not allowed...
