The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

We have done that several times. problem is that everyone is suffering from track hangover after 2-3 days at the track. really kicks your ass.

That's true. I'll be doing that route again this summer for sure though. Marc, his friend, and I had a great time running through the curvy hills in that region.

I can't see the maps of any of your links on my phone :(

I used to take riverview to 82 to go to my work... I got one ticket with no one else around and after that the Brecksville cops sat there everyday hidden behind some trees waiting. If I get pulled over through there again the cops know to arrest me per the really old cranky judge's orders lol. Awesome.

I've got YouTube video running the 2 down Meadows Dr.... Fun road for sure. Seemed like the ideal time to hit it was 7am before anyone got out there, or Sundays when it started to turn into fall and less people are out walking the park :)

My friend from MI and I accidentally found it one day and he named it "Jesus Rd" haha

HAHA I love the meadows! In the winter, they have to close the road because it's too dangerous to plow the snow LOL. I want to try to convince the city to let me hold a racing event on that road and close it for a day. That road has some really technical turns, tons of elevation changes, and some fun blind corners haha. The only downside to that road is the abundance of deer. The deer in that area are pretty used to cars so they rarely jump out into the middle of the road luckily.

I finally got my new wheels/tires on last night! If it clears up, I'll try to take a pic at lunch. Unfortunately I'm still rubbing in the rear (even with rolled fenders). I only rub when I accelerate too hard or hit a big bump. I'm going to try raising the rear about 1/4" and see if that helps. I may have to find some time to install my JBR rear camber arms and add a little more camber so they don't rub. I really don't want to do that because there's already a ton of rear camber due to being lower on these coilovers.

Also, I checked my brake pads while swapping wheels. The inside pads on the front are almost down to the pad :( I knew I needed brake pads, but now I need them ASAP LOL. I'm probably going to order something today after doing more research to determine what pad works best for me. Due to limited funds, I can't afford to run 2 sets of pads (one for the street, one for the track).

When I replace my brake pads, do I need to have the rotors machined? My front rotors are slotted LINK HERE. Can they even machine slotted rotors? Or do you guys think I'll be fine. I have about 27,000 miles on them right now. My last track session at Mid-Ohio last year, I noticed some slight vibrations in the front when braking from 100+ mph. I'm hoping my rotors didn't get warped due to crazy high temps. I definitely never set the e-brake after a session. I make sure I park the car in gear after sessions. I can tell the rotors reached some crazy temperatures. The rotors have heat paint markings that change colour to monitor peak braking temperatures. The Red stripe changes white when it reaches 630C (about 1166F) and mine was white after mid-ohio LOL. I was pushing it VERY hard keeping up with a Z06 vette lol.

I was under the impression that something was held there once and someone went off the road into that ravine and that was the end of that, lol.

I've never had deer jump out in front of me, either. Just stare as I go by. I did hit a hawk once, he was a little low coming across the road due to the baby rabbit he was carrying. Hawk flew away, rabbit was freed, I had a feather or two stuck in the 2's foglight panel in between the bumper. Win win win!

Edit: forgot to say I ran meadows dr at midnight in the 2 when it was all stock and quiet... I was flying and passed a park ranger in a Charger going the opposite direction... Also flying. Never hit his brakes. I think he was doing what I was doing!

Anyone check out the new lizard/lizardville in copley? The new location is pretty awesome, and the beer selection in lizardville is amazing.

Set it up, Sho!

Alrighty, ill start a thread later once i take a look at my final exam schedule. It's crunch time!

I feel ya. I have a project do today (not a big deal), another due Friday (I just started last night), and another next Wednesday (I'm screwed). Crunch time for sure. Probably no working on the car this weekend and I still need to finish up Levi's grill before shipping it out. Oh boy!

And she's hot. Or is it me who just thinks that? Must be the glasses, I dig dames with glasses.

if they are real glasses then yes i can dig em, but i personally abhor (cause hate isnt a strong enough word) girls with FAKE hipster glasses, thats one of the most stupid trends to me haha

Definitely agree with this. Lakewood has overabundance of hipsters and it's painfully obvious when the glasses don't have any correction to it. lame.

THIS GUY!

Just the turbo though. Mine has 141k miles and no smoke (yet) but I would love a spare. How much?

And I love the show "New Girl" with Zoey Deschanel but she wears glasses without lenses in them. Tessa and I were trying to figure out if they did or didn't have lenses then one episode she rubbed her eye through the glasses frame. Haha, obviously no lenses.

But yeah, if I didn't have to wear glasses I wouldn't be wearing fake ones. Glasses suck. Especially in a helmet.

Dafuq?!

They aren't that bad in a helmet if you have flexible ones, lol.

But when the frames flex doesn't that distort your vision? The way my helmet (not that I used it very often, mostly for ride-alongs) fits it would lift my glasses off the bridge of my nose and mess with my vision. I wanted to very, very lightly mod the padding on the side just a little to let my glasses frames rest back on my nose, but not sure if any tech inspectors would see it and disqualify my helmet.

1st world problems, I know... haha
