I will be racing the CorkSport B-Spec Mazda 2 at the SCCA Majors event for the weekend. It should be a hoot as there are ~30 other cars in my run group which makes life entertaining.

Spent two days there running counter-clockwise 13 on 4/6-7; Car (stock) did well, except a little weak on and off the front straight. You should have a lot of fun. It's a really good track. Would love to come out, but it's a little too far. Who's in your group? T3? T4; Do you know how many B-Specs will be there? What about tires? DOTs not slicks? Good luck & let us know.

Everyone is in my group E/F/H production, T3/T4, STU and STL. So far counting my car there are 36 people in the group so there should be non stop action. I am running BFG R1 tires.

Looks like they moved the E-Production guys to a different run group so there is now 42 cars in our group. Bonus for me, there are now 2 Honda Fits signed up.

I will be working on videos, I have an HD camera for the inside of the car and a gopro to mount on the front of the car to rub off on the hondas.

The fits has too much straight line speed with the track setup for the event If the bus stop was used I would have done better. On saturday I caught up to the faster of the two fits but didnt get past him. One sunday I was able to jump the fit on the start and get in front but after 4 laps he got past me. So I have 2 second place finishes out of the 3 B-Spec cars which showed up at the party. It was some good racing though and I will see about getting videos done to share.

Yeah the Hondas have better power to weight but I thought SCCA restricts the intakes to "even out the field"

From my experience all of the Fits (3 different cars so far) I have raced against were faster on the straights than the 2 in B-Spec. There are a few things which help them out. The RPM drop between the gears is less in the fit and even with the restrictor they are making about ~5-6 more HP on the top end.

There has been some tracks where the 2 needs to shift in the middle of the corner and the fit has the advantage as well.
