So I've had my mazda2 for a week and Im hurting to get it lowered. I'm thinking h&r springs as I love the drop they provide. I got the extended warranty from cj Wilson mazda(bumper to bumper), and my question is would those springs void my warranty or only a part of it? Cj Wilson does carry Corksport products and install there parts.

Call them up and ask for sure. If they carry and install Corksport, why not get the Corksport lowering springs, the dealer may actually fully warranty CS products.

I believe CJ Wilson does the same thing that Kennedy does... If it's not internal in the engine and transmission, it is fine. Call the service department to double check though!

I know CJ wilson has installed H&R products and should give you any trouble. I agree with the guys above, call them to make sure. If you need our shocks talk to the guys in parts there and they can hook you up with them as well.

Should or shouldn't give me any trouble?

Are suspension components even covered by warranty? I thought the booklet that came with my car only mentioned drivetrain stuff. I didn't go through it with a comb, though.

I have bumper to bumper which includes struts as well. I thought they were a wear product and wouldn't be covered but they are.

Now that you mention it, the salesman did tell me that I had a bumper to bumper warranty (not including the bumpers, lol). I probably didn't go through the warranty manual thoroughly enough.

With any type of lowering spring (especially H&R and corksport) the life of your OEM shocks will be significantly reduced, and I doubt you'd get warranty replacement on the them when they go south. They shouldn't deny warranty for anything other than the shocks though, but technically I supposed they could deny any suspension part if they wanted. On the other hand, you should always be looking for excuses to upgrade your suspension anyways.

I have the extended bumper to bumper warranty also, When i talked to the guys at Capitol Mazda they told me that aftermarket parts do not entirely void the warranty.

as they explained it:

If i lower the car and then something directly related, like a ball joint, wears out, it will no longer be covered.

If i lower the car and then the fuel pump dies, it will still be covered.

At least they give you an explanation of their policies.

FYI Ralph and Ken at the capital parts department are cool guys.

That's awesome man. The guys at Oak Tree Mazda in San Jose told me the same thing. Woohoo California (wiggle)

Has there been any concerns so far with Mazda and their parts for suspension? Any news for premature failures of any suspension parts?

I mean what could wear out prematurely from lowering the 2 with springs? What's the most harm it can cost?

Aside from the shocks? Not much, likely. Mazda offers Eibach lowering springs as an option. They wouldn't do that if they knew it would cost them warranty repairs in the long run.
