Yesterday (3/10) marked one year of ownership for my CX-5 Touring, w/ Tech and Bose.
Right at 16,750 miles of service. It is a very early build.
Just want to chime in that my wife and I both still love it. If I could go back, wait for some of the newer makes/models, hold off for the 2.5l, whatever, I wouldn't. Very satisfied.
Mileage has been consistent at 30 MPG. Average speed is 32-33 MPH.
Rattles aside, I've had two minor issues. A clunk developed in the steering column, felt over bumps and dips and such. Dealer retorqed control arm mounting bolt, and it resolved the issue. Second issue (still on-going), is the passenger airbag disable light remains illuminated at all times, when there isnt an occupant in the seat. Haven't had it in yet to get it resolved, but there is a TSB for this issue.
Everything else is still rock solid. When temps get low (freezing), the suspension will let out a few creaks when backing out of the garage and down the driveway. Have 2-3 rattles I need to dampen in various areas in the interior.
But, still love zipping around in it. Love the tech. Bose is leagues better than the Blose in my MS6. And the AA HIDs continue to impress. Great output, great cutoff. Love them.
I think overall the CX-5 trends on very reliable. I have been apart of quite a few auto web forums, and the gas CX-5 has had very few common major issues crop up.
After being apart of the original Mazdaspeed6 online communities, trust me, the CX-5 is rock solid in comparison.
