What wattage is safe for this vehicle, in other words will the 55 Watt Kit melt the housing for the Main headlights or should i just use the 35 watt kits to be safe?

35watt, unless you want to replace the harness at some time in the future.

The 55 watt kit is plug and play for the wiring harness, just need to know if the OEM halogen headlight housing can take the high temps of the 55 watt Hid kit with 8000k HID BULB.

For the love of god... Don't.
There are posts on this already from people who have done this plus me debating with people as to why it's not a good idea with the oem halogen headlights.

It's not illegal, I checked the local laws in Florida there is nothing that states it is illegal.

I already upgraded my car to the 35 watt hid kit, I like it I want to goto 55watts. People on here only upgraded to 35 watts I'm looking to see if the cars headlight housing can handle the temps of 55watts HID's

This is not state law but federal. See this link for some discussion on this forum. Link

What's worst this is huge liability issue. In head on collision at night, you might still be responsible even thought the other driver caused it (he/she was blinded by your lights).

if it is a federal law then: 1. Sales would be prohibited, 2. Local Police would be handing out tickets like for too dark tint. I called the local police and the law states that the bulb temp on 35 watt kits & on 55 watt kits no higher then 8000k for either too bright or too blue in color.

Do whatever you want. I just wanted to point out to you that HID conversion kids are problem.

NHTSA ILLEGAL LIGHTING CRACKDOWN CONTINUES

Really that was from 2004, the light technology has changed. Wow you crack me up. Find something for this year, and I'll believe you.

The regulations are still applicable and lighting technology hasn't changed for the usual mundane HID swap into halogen projectors or reflector housings.

Install your damn 55watt HID's for all we care. I don't live in the same state as you so I wouldn't care if you blinded on coming drivers with your potentially melting harnesses, relays, and housings.

There are plenty of laws that are pre-2004 that are still valid today and will be valid until they explicitly get changed.

You can do whatever you want, but just know that you are breaking the law. Whether you get called out for it or not who knows, but if you do you won't have an excuse.

On a personal note I swear this country is going to s***. Everyone is just "me me me me and screw everyone else. I'm right and the law is stupid and shouldn't apply to me (when it's convenient)".

Uh... I thought this was an italian feature...
Damned globalization! :-(

yeah well i asked my local sheriff and he said he had no clue there is a law for HID lights other the they must be less then 8000K on both 55w and 35W kits.
