Short Shifter Install

I would hope that they would send you guys that got the crappy version the revised part that actually works the ways its intended. No one should have to keep a part that was improperly manufactured unless they choose to. But considering the importance of said part I would imagine everyone would want one that fits/functions properly.

Yeah. The new part would make me feel better. I love the short shifts. But find I do not shift hard. Afraid it will pop off.

I would imagine you are not alone in wanting peace of mind, this would be especially true for those who track/autox their 2. The last thing you want is a mechanical failure in competition let alone on your daily commute. No one should be forced to resolve a design or manufacturing flaw with mechanics commonly associated with cheap ebay car parts.

I was able to take a look at the change on the part and it is a 2 flange arrangement to clamp the plate to the shift arm. I will see about getting some picture up.

Derrick it was already mentioned that the instructions were updated on your website. From the pictures on there it seems like a good fix.
Will the new clamp be mailed out to the original buyers?

I'm cool with my fix! No new plate for me! But I like the new design, should work wonders!

I'm not sure if there is a pic of the difference from stock

O yea I'm loving the bubble shift knob and yes everyone asks me why I have a dildo shifter lol

That new clamp is pretty huge -- took me some fiddling to get it on so it didn't hit the cable boot in reverse, 4th, and 2nd. Looks pretty clunky but it should make sure the plate stays on -- fit was good without it though, almost considered taking it off.

John -- how is your original SS install holding up with no clamp?

so, corksport resolve the problem? because they update the installation manual, but the photo still the same, to make sure my decision to buy.

Ok, so I wasn't sure what to think of the short shifter after I installed it yesterday, but after driving with it today I love it!! Snick Snick, Zoom Zoom -- just like a Mazda should be! Thanks again CorkSport!! (2thumbs)

ps -- with the new clamp, there should be pretty much no chance of this thing coming off now!
