NEMOC Random BS Thread

Had to take Mary to the clinic today. Her back wasn't getting any better. Good news was the xray showed no broken bones, just bad bruising. So some steroids and painkillers and she is doing better.

Ouch, glad she is ok though. I'm getting old. :( Couple months ago I pulled my lower back. Thought nothing of it, just a little pain. Few days go by and a have the feeling that someone gave me a hard kick to the nuts. The pain lasted all day, I was stuck laying on the floor until going to the ER that night. Every slight movement caused it to be worse. I could not even crawl. After hours at the hospital and exams they sent me home with pain meds, just a a pulled muscle that was pinching the right nerve. Took a couple days to get back to normal.

Thanks Josh, the meds are helping but like any back issue it takes time.

Morning all. Happy Ground Hog Day!!

Sorry for ghosting out after last post , been busy with work and what not.

dude, get a code reader....you could of bought a nice scan guage for $200...stupid dealers!

morning all!

As for scanner you're right and I had the same thing in mind just that the CEL beat me to it and thought it was some mech. issue or electronics so didn't want to wait till i get a proper scanner, looking to get one but they are not cheap.

It's a VW, what did you expect? They practically invented the CEL.

Well, there's a lot of speculations but my department director , who has worked worked for automotive industry, mentioned that the manufactures in general had a scheme a while back where for every minor thing the CEL would come up to force dealer service so you're not far off but then gov. stepped in but who knows the extend of that scheme.

they also invented the electrical gremlin that causes the CEL light to either malfunction or burn out, not letting you know of impending doom :P

Yeah , its a let down but the gas cap light did came on except it wasn't on the manual instrument section so i didn't know what it actually meant until dealer diagnosed the CEL.

Being a current owner of one that, had I not had the tools and capability to do most of the work myself, would probably have bankrupt me by now, I think I've earned the right to bash VWs from time to time. German engineering my ass. Same people who thought a manual turret on a Panzer would be a good idea. Big surprise when the more maneuverable (but far inferior in every other way) were able to consistently get behind them and pick them apart. *sigh*

German engineering is top notch but marketing/business does effect the end product, companies are in for the $$ not much for the reliability anymore. But CC is nice concept and it does meet my needs, wish Mazda 6 would be more refined inside like CC is.

Morning everyone!

And good to see that VW bashing is still alive. lol I'll never buy another...I don't care how good they claim to be. Tony, if you should get another CEL stop at AZ and get it read for free and go from there.

Jeff, AZ is no use .. tried it and couldn't do anything at all, I'm guessing they have moved to newer system and could be read only by "certified" scanners.
I would say the same as far as reliability with VW but CC is a nice ride and a friend of mine, euro mech, told me that if I keep up with maintenance on time it shouldn't give me much headache and their newly designed 2.0T is much better engine.

Great news Mark, glad that chapter is over for you. The memories will live on as you say.

Too bad about the truck, keep looking. Glad to see the P5 is staying in the family.

Had a great time last nite here and tonight should be awesome with the Superbowl and RV Park is cooking up ribs. Go 49ers

bruce, getting tired of the sun and warm weather yet? ;)

i've found a couple, i'm taking with them today. 1 is an 01 with 39k miles the other is an 07 with 92k....these trucks are pretty bullet proof, so i'm not to concerned with the high mileage. both are in awesome condition to, no rust real clean interiors

Wifes new car! Certified pre-owned 2008 VW EOS DSG Turbo. One owner, Thunder Blue Metallic with only 54K miles. Love the folding hardtop with the large sliding moonroof.
