Sit-rep: The software update fixed the ignition advance reading incorrectly in 1 dash (the green) but not the other (the blue), so I've let the developer know. I'd forgotten exactly how much I enjoy testing software and looking for bugs. Been years since I got to do any kind of QA work. I've got a few other niggling things that I've sent back as feedback as well. That said? This will be easily worth paying money for once the full version is out. I love it.
Also: I've started work on a carbon fiber plate that will mount between the momo adapter and the quick release on the steering wheel that the hard-case for the phone will mount up to.

Yep. And after all that work? I may not even end up using the GoPro parts lol. I've got a few decent sized pieces of carbon fiber and I'm thinking about just making a bracket out of that hard-mounted between the steering wheel and quick-release. We'll see which I prefer, but I feel just based on playing with a couple configurations that having the hard-mount would be mo' betta. And would obviously be all big baller status w/ the carbon

Rough draft completed. It's not completely "perfect" because I pretty much eyeballed it, but it's good enough, I think, to work. Mounting it there, my "maybe too small" phone actually works damn near perfectly. I'm pleased with how it turned out, and I think it will serve my purposes very well

that is awesome. the only potential problem I see is that in some light it may glare to the point of not being able to read it. Even though I am sure your phone also has the auto brightness adjustment that only helps to an extent.

Using it in the car, it'll just be turned up to max. Only need it for ~2 minutes at a time.
I had my co-driver over (an experienced wrench in his own right) and we knocked out a massive chunk of the to-do list tonight (and a number of beers).

Re-hung the header-back exhaust
Bled the brakes and clutch.
Oh, and we found 10 lbs to kick to the curb.
At this point we figured we'd get 5 or 6 lbs total between the 2 crash bars.

I knocked out a few more small items this afternoon while the boys had their nap:
Cleaned up (with a grinder) the cuts to make sure I didn't have any obvious sharp edges.
Spray-bombed the cut areas with rust inhibitor / paint.
Took the dash bar out and cut off a couple of brackets where the stock dashboard mounted to. Without the dashboard, they turned into knee-spears, which was always awesome as you were getting ready for an autocross run.
I cleaned those cuts up as well and smoothed them down, then gave the whole thing a couple fresh coats of rust inhibitor / paint, mostly to clean up a few spots where bolt heads had rubbed the paint away.

Wow, don't know how I never saw this thread... not a Miata guy, but there's a ton of good stuff in here for anyone prepping a car.

Those silver flakes are metal shavings.
I guess it's time to place a call with Koni and Flyin' Miata tomorrow to see if they can repair the shock & sell me a single new top hat or a replacement spherical bearing, respectively. I also am going to order all brand new shock-mount hardware from Mazda.
