why do vehicles just keep getting more and more expensive...

i read an article the other week about Ford wanting to redesign the Mustang cause it isnt selling well to younger demographics... well NO s*** FORD!!!
its not cause people our age dont like the current Mustang, its cause people our age cant afford a mustang...

Common Sense sometimes eludes corporations no matter what they sell. But I agree, if it costs less younger people would buy.

The base model Mustangs are quite affordable, but yes Ford is deluding themselves if they expect the younger demographics to be purchasing 5.0L GT's. Unfortunately vehicles are more expensive nowadays for a number of reasons: some we can control like fancy options, bigger engines, etc. and others we can't control like government-mandated safety features, high manufacturing cost due to unions, etc.

Don't remind me. Regular jumped $0.30/gal overnight here. Very few things make me want to commit large acts of vandalism...
Agreed, how can gas go from $3.53 to $3.83 because of the speculatio. Hell, the gas was already in their tanks and the bought it a a certain price and now that can charge me $0.50 more per gallon!

I just got back from Italy. It's 1.75+ PER LITER (~4 liters to a gallon for you kids playing at home) over there. So, near as makes no difference, $2/quart. For regular. So... gas is ******* cheap here.

That's the thing that bothers me the most. I understand oil is a commodity so prices with change, but there should be a lag between increase in cost per barrel of crude and cost per gallon of gasoline. Also notice how it only goes one way. It'll jump $0.30/gal overnight but it'll take two week or more to go down that same amount. This is so the gas companies can pad their pockets when the market value goes up and minimize their losses when it goes down. I'm never for more government intervention but it's downright immoral to capitalize on market upswings while not taking hits on downturns like the rest of us investors...

Imagine how I felt when I put off getting gas last night and had to fill up from E this morning. :(
I did that with the 2 a couple of weeks ago when we were around $4/gal. I literally drove with "0" miles left for two days until prices dropped somewhat.

you were all pissed off for about a 3 dollar TOTAL difference....
Yeah, it's not much but it's really the principle. FWIW, my truck takes 18 gallons so a $0.30/gal increase is over $5 in the end. That's $5 I could have used for groceries or utilities, which in turn could have been saved.

Yeah, but prices in Europe have always sucked. They have bad taxes and none of the oil refining is done domestically so they pay more and don't reap the benefits of being an oil producing nation. The U.S. however, has comparatively low taxes and we produce a large amount of oil in our own right so it's natural to expect lower prices.

i understand, it was me just giving nick s***...

i know its only 3-4 bucks but it adds up... and every gas station always jacks the prices up fast but drop em down SOOOOO slow... its bulls***

Agreed. I'm just saying, it could be way friggin worse.

I get to feed the Bavaria today before driving it up to Ashtabula today. Running premium because it actually likes higher octane than that (dual carb, no cats, almost 40 year old engine), so I'm looking at probably 14 or 15 gallons at around $4 a gallon, and it eats it at a rate of around 15 mpg. That part kinda sucks, but that car is still damn fun to drive.

Good times last night at Menchies with Phen in attendance. Need to spend as much time as possible with him before he leaves for. China. Getting car ready for Toledo. Cleaning up tbe Kosei's with the V 710's and getting out our numbers and the rest our gear, air tank, impact rench, jack, etc

That's like my TA. On a good day it gets 13-15 mpg and it is slow as hell, but it is still so much fun to drive and cruise around in.

Same here, but I need to pick up a air tank.

That sound bite is halarious.
