What have you done to your MSP today?

What about the head? did you get it surfaced? do you have a new head gasket? I'm not sure what all you did

Is there something that would send my car into a limp mode. Like any check engine light? Or sonethi.g? I'm cofused as to what my issue is.

Do you have a scan tool that can capture freeze frame data?
Check to see if it's at idle or under load when it sets.
Did one of the shims for the lifters not get installed or an incorrect one installed?
And minimum on a compression test is 119, spec is 171, and maximum variance is 28 <---- That could be your problem right there.

Ill have to check that, Thanks. I took the shims out and then just put them back in the exact same spot. I know all of them got reinstalled in the same place they came out of. I do have a snapon scanner that I can capture data from.

I'm sure knock will send it into limp mode or if it senses more thant one cylinder missing. I think when my maf got soaked from water it put the car into limp mode also because it wouldn't let me hit boost at all. But they may have just been the ecu getting bad readings.

Well my maf did get wet recently and I did get a mag code breifly, but it went away. I may jut get a new maf. Also planning to seafoam my car again soon. Haven't done it to this newer motor.

Also how do I check for knock? And wouldn't that throw a code?

Anyone know a part number (preferably Felpro) for the turbo to manifold gasket?

Mine didn't throw a code until i really tried to beat on it and it started cutting up. i just took it off and sprayed it with some light air to allow it to dry and ive been fine ever since. it would probably throw a code if it was knocking.

What did you clean it with? And here's the codes I have atm

P0401
P0171
P2009.

Just a air nozzle. But i did it very lightly. I was throwing a p0103. That p0171 could be your issue. I know you can buy the electrical spray cleaner to help. i was just trying to fix it for free first before wasting money. Have you messed with any/fix that's causing the code?

this isn't necessarily msp related, but its for the formula 1 fans out there, which should really be staying up to date on the most exciting season in the past 5 years that i have been watching on regular basis. its just a small tibute to teh AWESOME bbc coverage, as opposed to sky, let alone speed channel.

well enjoy:

I don't know what is causing the lean code. No vac leaks. Is that code grown from.the primary o2 sensor?

Also.....4,000th post lol

im also having the p0171 code almost everyday.... could be the egr or maf? ive replaced my primary 02 which was the cause for a little while, but now its back so could be egr??? maybe thats what im thinking

i hated those codes man! the cause was pretty apparent for me tho. CEL went away maybe 2 days after fixing the vac line

so do you think i should look for a vac line leak/old lines? Im showing vac at 20 when idling on my boost gauge? what do you guys think it is

its either a vac line leak, or a gasket leak on the intake side of things. just get a makeshift boost leak tester and see what's up. also i remember that when my msp was still a virgin, the vacuum reading was in the -24's easily. 20's to me shows a little leak.
