Lowering spring question

Well, I have found a guy on craiglist selling a set of used Megan Lowering springs for a pretty good price. These will be installed on my DD Protege5. Trying to gather a bit more information from him atm, but what I know is that Protege, P5 and the MSP suspension setups are different. If these springs came off a normal Protege would they fit my P5 correctly?

Opinion gathering now:
New set of Eibachs or some decently priced Megan Racing?

The p5 uses a stiffer rear spring due to it being a bit heavier in the rear. The msp uses a different spring due to the rear perch being different.

Megan racing is only made for the p5, offers the biggest drop of any spring (2.0") and some people complain of a harsh ride

Would I have to do anything extra when installing these because a 2" drop seems really low on the stock wheel size. Also have 8 mm wheels spacers.

I don't think you would have rubbing issues on stock wheels but I would upgrade struts to tokico blues or at least kyb gr2

I have heard the Megans are a bit of a harsh ride, but never experienced it for myself. I personally have Eibach springs with KYB struts and am quite happy with it. My wife hates driving in my car. My kids and I love it!

Original plan was to go with Blues and Eibach... also reading now that stock struts and lowering springs = short term.

I rode with 1.4 lowering on stock struts for almost 2 yrs without issue until I got tokico illuminas. If you want to just do springs I still have the stock struts that you can has very cheap. No leaks and am local. I wouldn't go 2" on stock and expect them to last very long tho. I also have some Espelirs I need to get on the car and will then have the Maxspeed 1.4s that I will be looking to be rid of. Not sure what your timing is on all this tho.............or mine for that matter, lol.

Alright thank you for the information. My next question now is, where would I be able to find a cheap set of Blues or know anyone selling a used set?

Hi i just bought a set of blues from street unit for $617 and that's inc shipping to Australia
they have to get them in for me.

Yes, sir they are the best price I've found so far... says they qualify for "Free Shipping" for me.

I can not get that link to come up bud
all you need is the tokico blue high performance gas shocks protege 99-03 all 4 set

Well, then I think we found a winner... I have to just decide on a set of springs now.

What would you let your springs go for?

Hey, Tein S techs with Stagg struts rides well imo. Maybe try that. The lower you go the ride will be less pleasant.
