What have you done to your Miata today?

Don't you have coils on the 8 as well?

It had BC Racing coilovers when we bought it, but the ride was harsh. I got a set of used Tokico D-Specs with RB springs and put those on. It is too soft for my taste (and it bottoms in the rear when pulling out of our drive with people in the back), so I'm planning on getting softer springs for the BC's and putting them back on. I already wrote BC last year and they said I can down one step on the springs without needing to have the shocks revalved. I also need to install the Koni yellows/RPM springs I have as well (they've been sitting around for two years now).

Guess I should post something on topic. (whistle)

Rotated tires/cleaned the inside of the wheels, raised the suspension (it had settled or whatever you want to call it quite a lot), and installed the 949 front/rear subframe braces that showed up today. I think I was riding on the bump stops at least part of the time because the ride is much better. I'll be getting an alignment in the next week or so. My EUDM 4-2-1 factory exhaust mani/downpipe and MSM midpipe arrived today as well, but I won't be installing those until I get into swapping out the supercharger.

looks good Tungsten. the bc ride is fairly harsh but I have to suck it up. I run 15 from hard on the street which is really rough but it allows me to still have good handling when I want to suddenly whip it around. if I don't feel like bouncing around I do 20 from hard.

ooh and I am going to be doing some repairs soon because some guy in a truck decided to back into me. :( the headlight is broken, the hood is a little bent and the paint is messed up in three spots. he has insurance but wants to pay out of pocket. I took all his info + his insurance just in case he changes his mind about paying.

Replaced the fuel filter and CAS, eliminated the bad misfires during idle, but not the little ones. Plug wire swap tomorrow.

Attempted to go over a speedbump yesterday. Made it over the first one fine... Second one not so much. Also scraped the ******* rear tow hook pulling out of work yesteday lol

Torn on raising the front. Try'd to do a little bit of a spirited run on one of the curvier roads around and I had some rubbing under hard braking/turning.

What's your ride height?

Someone mentioned Vmaxx is that what you got? OE bumps still?

Right now I am at around 11.5 all around. (Rear is a tad lower than the front)

We didnt adjust them at all. I had set them up where I thought I would like it and ended up loving it when the front was done so just kinda stuck with it. I think I am going to stick with the height in the front and raise the rear to about 12 (ride is comfortable but I think a 12 would be nicer)

and I am using whatever bump stops the vmaxx came with

Cool, I was just curious. I had my car at that ride height for a long time (with stock bumps!). With those spring rates 12"-12.5" is probably a better ride height but as long as the ride is good for you and you like it more power to ya! (2thumbs)

Yeah I need to raise the rear (and buy a jack that will actually fit under it haha).

Going to raise it, get some spacers and a front lip and then just drive it from there. I love the miata but I don't think I want to dump as much money into it as i thought.

Just rather save my money for another car (or moving out) I love my parents and I get along with them and everything but I would just rather be out on my own. Hell, I might change my mind tomorrow, but as of right now thats what i want. Boost would be loads of fun, but dont want a boosted miata as my only car. As much potential as a miata has its just not worth it to me.

yes it is

Lol. I don't want a boosted my Miata as my only Miata. I'd have to at least drive a boosted NA first. I'm afraid that FI would ruin it, I like how you have to rev the s*** out of it to get it to go anywhere.

i've owned a 1.6 na and now a 1.8 with boost

I like the boost, but, i also live in a state that's flat and straight. Now if i lived somewhere with twisties, i'd be perfectly content ringing the crap out of a 1.6.

I do agree, it's more fun to drive a slower car fast than a faster car slow (not that my car is fast now, but it will get out of it's own way, which is all i like)

Best of both worlds: get a "slow" motorcycle :-P

We're looking at getting a house first, then motorcycle will follow later

yeah, makes sense . my ride height in the rear was similar to yours and I had to raise also It was like slammed status and I didn't want that, I wanted more suspension travel for better handling., my front end ended up staying the same.

I went around to get quotes for the repair cost, since the headlight is broken it would cost around $1300 from one place and $1800 from another. me and my bro can fix the light ourselves and I will probably end up finding a place to do it cheaper. so I will ask the guy for 1200, paint the damages and probably be left with around 400-500 bucks that can go toward the seats I want. at least that is the plan

Plug wires and cleaning grounds did very little to solve my misfire issue... plugs, contact cleaner, and fuel injector cleaner next I think...

Heading outside to spend some quality time with her. I *may* put some photos up later. We'll see how it goes.
