that sounds dangerous. i like it.

though, why not just have a shop tune at 20 psi for you and walk from there so you can save yourself some time?

GT3071 0.63

I havent decided on an actual number... I am going to tune it at 12 Psi, get a feel for it and then walk up the boost and tune as I go...

I will stop when I have sufficient HP to quickly breach 180 MPH.

I need this car to **** Me...

Normally, a driver feels more comfortable doing something stupid than the passenger does... I want both occupants to feel fear. The car must feel like it is constantly trying to kill me.

If you want to have that feel you will need something bigger than a 3071 Brian, you will need to Step up to a 3582R, I have gone 172 mph on mine with a bad tune. I can show you if you want 2 videos of my car on my last recorded dyno and a hard highway launch so you can see how does it looks and sound when turbo kicks in til 172 mph. with all the work you have done to your car and all goodies you have in there you should step up and get a GT3582R, It will take you up there fast ass hell with all the feelings you are looking for.

Or get a GT3076R I like the 35r but the spool time will take forever and the 3076 is a dual ball bearing.

There is no Effing way I am going to get a GT35...

I refuse to wait until 4200 RPM to get spool..

With my gears I would literally need to be doing 102MPH in 4th gear to build boost...
I would have to drop to 2nd at 60MPH to build boost...

I have spec'ed out the GT3071 and it is PERFECT all the way to 500 HP for a 2.0L...

I have run the past ten years on a GT28RS and lag is lame.

I will build full boost at 3100 RPM all the way to 6500 RPM....

EDIT: This post seems like an attack... Please forgive the directness of it.. It is not an attack and I love discussing modifications... It is how we learn. But the 35 is just a bad choice in my opinion.

The car is 2300 Lbs, I am fully expecting to run over 20 PSI daily.. The car will need to be doing 85 MPH before I can use my tallest gear... I'm sure there will be plenty of "Feeling"

That has to be the most extreme post modification expectations ever. ***** & near killed. You are ******* hardcore Brian.

Lol. I have been at this for 10 years now with the same car... I am difficult to impress... I am my own worst critic.

I will Never attack a person that everything it does is perfect. I was just transmiting you my impressions. Ive been running my 35R for the past 5 years and i can tell you the feelings and impressions are simply awesome. Theres a Company that i can find out for you that Modifies the 35R turbos to spool fast and blow the same or more amount of air all the way to the top making the turbo ridiculous responsive and more insane of what they already are. Please dont think im attaking you because im simply not, I always try to learn from you brotha, im simply trying to share impressions with you. if you dont mind i can post a video i have me launching at 25 PSI all the way to 150. and one on a dyno. Taking in consideration my tune is a s*** and my car is light years from being nicely done like what you have and are doing to your car but you can get an idea how this turbo reacts. Ive been on cars with 28RS, 3071 and 3076 GT series BB turbos and if you want a feeling the car is trying to Kill you like you are saying, then brotha you will need a 35R and up modified to spool earlier and trust me you will get that feeling you are looking for. when the turbo kicks in it feels at least to me incredible awesome... hahaha feels like you are falling from a building...

0-150 Video

Old Dyno Video, I had to do the Dyno run on 5th gear cause car was running off the dyno rolls on 4th at WOT thats way you will see a very big Lag on the dyno, trust me i honestly dont feel any lag on my setup and incredibly happy with how my car performs and im light years away of how your car is built. in this video you can see how insane the turbo kicks in and blow all the way to redline. in that dyno car went from 100 mph to 175mph. of course on dyno car is not pulling its own weight but for that you have the first video to see how does it looks on the street. Keep an eye on the Speedo on both videos, the way the needles moves is simply how it makes you feel..

C'mon Miguel, you know you can't post videos of unsafe speeds on public roads on here.

And if the car is rolling off the dyno in 4th gear, me thinks the dyno operators didn't secure the car properly. I've seen 7-800+ hp cars on dynos in lower gears and they don't roll off.

why did you remove the dyno video? thats not illegal...

if you want a link its all yours...

but I'm sure Brian does not want his thread to turn into Miguel's with all the unneeded posts.. plus the dyno video is 3 years old and had been in his thread forever.

To Paraphrase the last little bit...

I am going from a GT28RS to a GT3071, this is the first turbo upgrade since I built the car in 2003. I spent months deciding and selecting the turbo. A GT35 was never one of the candidates because IMO, it would render the car undrivable due to lag. The combination of LAG and my Transmission would make make me very sad.

I appreciate the input from Miguel and I find it interesting, however I haven't even installed the new turbo or attached it to the manifold...

I would like to keep the discussion on track, however, I do not feel that it has gotten too far off topic, Thansk for your continued interest in the MP5T and don't forget to check the new website... It's not done yet..

www.mp5t.com

I have updated a lot of it yesterday..

awesome site
I agree awesome site!!! Please update us with pictures once you decide to mount the turbo.

Thanks for the feedback, I mill most definitely post up a shitload of shots when I finally get the turbo T3 Housing mounted to the new manifold. I am curious to see if I will have clearance issues, but discussing with you Lou and Brian (Signature) i think it will work out fine.

I am planning to put a blanket on the hot side to make things happy in there.. Once the diffuser goes on, there will be less flow in the engine bay so I need to get that heat OUT!
