The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

So, doing a Lexus LS460 at work. Needs all the suspension on the driver side, including a new engine cradle.

Swapped the cradles out today, and the damn thing has an electric power steering rack that's self contained! No lines going to it....weird.

The 3 are electric too. 1st gens weren't self contained, but I think the 2nd gens are getting that way.

So are MR2s. Lots of race cars like them. Small additional load on the alternator, lighter weight, less load on the engine than a P/S pump, no lines / heavy pump / heavy bracket / fluid reservoir, etc. A buddy of mine installed an MR2 electric PS pump on his auto-x SMF EF Civic. Thing was making 200 lb/ft of torque from 2000 RPM on 275/15" hoosiers, and would literally rip the wheel out of your hand accelerating out of corners.

Have links to the videos handy? I remember watching that thing and giggling.

B16 perhaps? 275/15 tires on an EF probably look hilarious. I'd like some video too for the Honda fan boi that still lives within. :)

scoop isn't the prettiest but I've seen worse and this one is functional.

So I decided I couldn't wait to get another set of rims so I bought another set of RH's. Yep you heard it right :) Picking them up Saturday morning. Probably going t o have a set that is back to stock color and maybe orange for autocross unless I use the 16's I had last year again and paint them orange. Choices, choices, choices. Lol I"ll save up forthe Kosei or Enkei wheels after the car is painted. Time to buy tires now.

That's a D16, probably a D16B8. So for him to make 200lbs is pretty damn impressive. I think they made 50lbs of torque stock. haha! I love me some Honda's though... If I could have found one that wasn't riced out and taken care of I would've bought one instead of the Milly. Sweet pics, aMaff.

Corey, RH again? Ack. Come on, man... :(

lol. I can literally here that in your voice in my head :)

RH's are heavy, why go with those?
Another dd set for all seasons most likely and the others will have some nice sport tires for fun runs and screwing around in the summer. I would definitley use the 16's that I had last summer with Falkens over a 23lb factory wheel. I think the bronze 16's are only like 16lbs. I put them on a scale with me at home an they were almost 8lbs lighter a rim. Can really only go with 225's for a Rcomp tire on those.

meh who cares... if you got the RH's for cheap it doesnt matter

too many people put too much emphasis on weight here or power there and dont focus on the most important thing which is seat time... keep getting the seat time and dont worry much with the weight

but hey thats just my 2 cents
