FS-DE Oil System

You will need to adjust it to suit your system and oil type. Start with it nearly turned all the way in. When you first fire up the car turn it back out to get somewhere between 10-20 psi at warm idle. Slowly check it a 1000 then 2000 rpm and so on. The rule of thumb is 10 psi for every 1000 rpm. It may take some time to set it properly.

Thanks!

anyone running an oil cooler in the middle of this system somewhere? i'm looking for some placement/install pics?

There are two schools of thought here....first, is to place the cooler between the external PRV and the remote oil filter to make sure the absolute last thing before the oil goes back to the engine is for it to get filtered to absolutely make sure no contaminants go into the engine.
Second idea is to place it after the filter before the oil goes back to the engine. This allows the oil to be the absolute coolest as it goes back to the engine. Also, if there is ever a catostrophic event (zoom, zoom, boom, boom) the oil cooler is not loaded with engine bits and made into junk since the filter protects it.
So it just depends on your system and needs...

Thanks!

well it's a customer car. he is going to daily the car as far as i know. and it's a built motor already. so, looking for options. pictures are great!

it'd be much easier if he were doing away with a/c.. but he's keeping it.

how much would be considered to much psi?? not that i intend to run it at some stupid level but just for personal knowledge. also how come 10 psi is a safe bet for every thousand rpm. how hard is this to install if your dropping a new motor in the car??

bump i will have this system installed in my car along with my new motor in may or june 2012

I am interested in one of these setups. PM'ed, but I need the info to get this going!

Sorry I kind of skimmed through the last 45 pages. Any pics of the whole setup? I'm interested since AWR is no longer going to be making their deep sump.

We are still doing the oil pump service for the same price of $100. You can send in a used and cleaned pump which we will check the specs on or a new one. We also have the external PRV's available for the same price as always, $130.

The rest of the system can be purchased from several outlets (Jeg's, Summit, Ebay, etc.)

For a diagram of the system look at #284 on page 19

If you have more questions feel free to ask.

Thanks!

Should I keep my oil squirters? My builders recommends pluggin them using the cp pistons

We do not use them on our race motors. Just need to make sure the pistons have the pin lube holes. Also, not a bad idea to coat the top of the pistons since the squiters also cool the piston domes. If you need someone to coat them let me know.

A rare opportunity...we have a completed oil pump that has been converted for use with the external PRV ready in our shop for shipping out! These usually take about a three week turnaround. Cost is the same as always ($100 oil pump service, $130 External PRV) just either need a pump in return that is able to be used for the service or a $60 core charge.

First paid gets it!!
