What is the easiest way to change out the rear motor mount? ( firewall side of the engine ) got it on the lift and it looks to be a b****, the other 3 were a piece of cake so i guess i should have figured it wouldnt be simple......some general input would be great. thanks!

the easiest way to change it out is to not change it haha just use inserts.

Because it takes 20 minutes to take the intake mani off and it makes your job 10 times easier. I've done the rear motor mount a few times and swapped the mani a few times as well. It ******* sucks positioning the mount and dealing with everything with the intake mani off. Just my recommendation.

Eh i've never seen the need to go that crap.. The hardest part for me is just breaking the factory locktite loose.

lol take his word for it, and mine. Taking the intake manifold off gives you so much more room to work with and will prob end up saving you some time.

Air tools def help too, thats what I used when I did mine

ive done the rear mount 4 times.. The first time was a b**** lol I can get the rear motor mount done in about 30-45 min with hand tools.

fuuuuck that. i never take the manifold off. will it be easier? sure.

but, all you need is a few extensions and a breaker bar.

I put the socket on each bolt first, then attach the extensions. easy as s***!

It's personal preference. After doing it with the intake mani on three times, I'm not going to ever do another one with it on.

I did it from under the car. It only took about 15 minutes with hand tools, but i was standing in a pit under the car so that made it a lot easier...

i might as well do it the mani removal way, i have access to a 30,000 lbs 4 post lift so getting it up in the air isnt an issue, but a P&P and a good mani cleaning might not hurt at 136k. and as far as inserts go, idk how that would go considering the existing OEM rubber inserts are sicking out like i ran over a PB&J sandwich hahaha its quite bad if i do say so my self......haha but thanks for all the help!!

I think removing the IM and spending an hour removing the old gasket is unnecessary and a major pain in the ass.

so access via underneath on lift may be least frustrating way? just dont wanna buy a new windshield from getting pissed and throwing wrenches haha

I break the 3 nuts loose from the top with several extentions and a breaker bar. Then tackle the bolt going through the mount from the bottom. A word of advise is use a 1/4inch wretchet set to remove the harness off the firewall. That will make life a lot easier when getting to the 3 nuts.
