Hi i need some help , im installing the quiafe and need the torque specs for the bolts that connect the ring gear to the diff, and do the nuts go on th inside or the outside of the ring gear.
Thanks,
Matt

Good question. If I could attach pics I'd throw you one or of my tranny going together (I didn't build it, but the builder sent me pics.) I have no idea on the torque specs, but if it helps any, it appears that the ring gear nuts clearly go toward the larger part of the diff.

Thanks, i spoke with mazdamotor sports and quaife today they told me to tourqe it to 35-40

whats a mfactory

edit: Google is amazing.

what bolts did you use with that thing. And is it guaranteed even under racing? Whats your opinion on it??

It comes with its own bolts. So just put loctite on them. It is guaranteed to never break under any conditions. (Parts only)

i absolutely love my mfactory...i highly recommend it to anyone even if they have the money for the quaiffe. it just grips all the time and never feels strained at all. i had the money to get the quaiffe when i got my mfactory but i do not regret choosing it over the more expensive one.

Wish I knew this existed before I bought mine.

OK now I called mazdamotorsports as well and they called the manufacture and they just told them 40-45. It was hard enough just to hold the thing at 37.

Mfactory does not have a spot for the spedo ring to go onto.

And thats how the P5 gets the speed reading from. Where as the msp and maybe the normal proteges have it on the axles by the hubs.

the transmission shop i had install my mfactory put the speedogear on and i have no issues with my speedometer. 2000 protege es gets the speedo reading from the gear not the abs sensors so i know for a fact it works.

ahhh cool! I guess the pic is for a msp and then they must make a different one for the P5/sedan. Damn! was just trying to justify the quaife. Guess thats $$ I'll never get back.

don't have buyers remorse man, quaife is an incredible piece.

edit: when is that picture from? maybe they revised the lsd
